You mean a lot to me...

In reply to Near YET Far .

Hey guys,

I know am not known here anymore... I am not anyone's favorite here either. I am someone who lost the way to The Writers Lounge, but has been brought back here by the post (linked above) by one of my bestie.

Well, to begin with... you all need to hear this that the grasshopper cannot always be 'adorable' and the penguin cannot always be 'annoying'... rather its about the 'pretty and absolutely adorable' penguin and 'irritating and annoying' grasshopper. No, you're wrong... how can you think that? You mean we are talking about an actual grasshopper and an actual penguin? Phew...! I call him 'grasshopper' and he calls me 'penguin'... :)

Yes, its been an year... may be more than that (see, i don't even remember) that has passed since then. But, it was the best of times. It witnessed a plethora of emotions then...the emotions that are just not there today. I was crazy back then? Or, have I stopped 'feeling' those emotions that then meant the world to me? Sigh! I do not have an answer.

It was always those little things that gave us the happiness. It was all about... my held being held by him suddenly when no one was seeing, about all the attention being given to me even when so many friends were there with us, it was about those cute sudden winks when 'everyone around us did see', it was about pretending that we hate each other when the world knew we didn't; it was about Mocha stories that some people from Writers Lounge longed for, was about standing together unmindful of being drenched in rain. My Chennai visits were shorter then, we waited and longed to meet. Today, I am here for two months and I just met you once. It is not that you're not missed, you know it.

Times are changing... though I don't want it to. This time when I met him, it wasn't the same. He was lost in his own world. I tried asking why, no answer. I looked at him, when all our friends were busy talking...and he, to my surprise, wasn't looking at me this time. He was busy with everyone else, or probably himself. Though we were sitting across the table, we knew we were miles apart. We said goodbyes with a hug, a cold one. I don't know what is wrong... I don't know what is this called... moving on, or a silent acceptance. What I feel for you, I keep it to myself... I find my smiles in those memories of the times we spent.

I am still that crazy penguin... making weird noises while eating that yummy chocolate fantasies at CCD, pulling your nose at times and trying to make a squint while you're deeply engrossed in my eyes. Chennai is boring without all this grassy, trust me. Are the cupids really hiding? Or are they busy with some other grassy and penguin in this city? Show me some love cupids.

Love,

The Girl of the story

Take me with you...

Tonight its a starry one
I gaze at the sky
Some voices I hear
As I look for them, they disappear

Is that your voice that I heard?
Will you call me again?
I promise never to go away
In your arms
I will surrender and stay

I have cried inside
Have stabbed myself
Over and over again
I beg you, my life
Give me one more chance

Take me with you
To heaven or to hell
For one last time
Bless me again

Love me one more time
I would be the happiest in the world
For then I would know
Truly, the magic of love.

Birthday Blast Artz and Arun

Far away in North,
A gal lies awake..
the clock strikes midnight
She rushes to cut the cake.

Somewhere in the South,
A dude can't sleep
Coz when the clock strikes 12
His age by one will leap :)

The chick, the hottie, the NYX
Oh she's known by many
But for me, she's PENGUIN
the gal with the BlackBerry :)

While the doc, the Cupid's Lunatic
from the classroom he tweets....
He blogs...and bowls us over
When his funny bone and mush meets

Today, many many years ago
When angels crisscrossed the stars
Two of them visited the Earth
And decided to live among us...

THOUGH i am sure one's a Devil :)
Yet they are the Lounge's Siblings
AARTHI and ARUN, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you
May the Gods fulfill your dreams..

Wishing you a many many happy returns of the day guys

TWL - Reformation!

A big hello to TWL Family!

As an Admin of this prestigious blog, and a member since December '08,  it really gives me a lot of pain to see The Writers Lounge in a state that it is today. This was the family we proudly called our second home. We encouraged our fellow writers to write even better, we celebrated special days, we laughed together and we cried together. But what I personally feel is that nothing is the same anymore.

A lot of people are new to this gang. Some of them were here since Day One and some of them joined us with time. This prestigious blog was started off by Asbah, Sandeep and Ste on 16.07.2008. From that very day, this journey began and it witnessed many people coming together and moving ahead in this journey.

It is quite heart-breaking to see certain disturbing activities like Politics, Monopoly etc. going on in the Lounge. A few weeks back, our founder Sandeep was ousted from the Lounge. No matter what personal grudges we hold against someone, it is certainly a very disturbing act when we delete him/her from the Lounge. It is my sincere request to each one of you to voice your opinion on this. Would you be very happy with anyone who deletes you from the Lounge on account of any personal grudge?

Sandeep, someone whom we fondly address as the 'Co-Founder' of the Lounge was DELETED from this place. He had nurtured this baby (The Writers Lounge) as much as any other founder did. Did any one raise a question - WHY? Folks, we are here as a family and not as slaves to someone. We do not have to necessarily agree with someone just because he is a Co-Founder of this Lounge. Believe me, this Lounge was created with a vision...it was visualized as an open platform where anyone can demand anything...can post anything....everyone is the owner here.

Secondly, Leo deleted himself from the Lounge since the changing face of the Lounge was disturbing him much. A lot of Admins are not active here, the reason for which has already been expressed.

I, as an Admin of this elite group blog, take the responsibility in my hands to bring about a serious change in this Lounge. I am thinking about the possibility of re-forming the Admin panel, incorporating new changes and your suggestions are welcome in this regard.

I would request each one of you to seriously consider the measures that we all can take to bring about a change in the Lounge and by the change I mean a POSITIVE one.

Thanks and  big group hug to all,

NYX!

Let Happiness Prevail

I am here at the lounge after a long time... many of you don't even know what I write and how I write or who I am. First of all, I want to say a few things about a few newbies here! :) Dear Amity Me, you write so well... each word of yours seem to leave an impression on my mind. You are a talented mother! Welcome to the lounge.
Shraddha, Hello to you! What can I say about your style of writing... you have got depth in your words... the way you express through your writes is commendable. Welcome to the lounge. :)

Meow... what do I say about you sweetheart! I feel you are my twin and you know that! You are a beautiful girl (yes guys, I have met her and all handsome guys stand a good chance here), I have never seen someone with such an innocent heart! Love ya sis!

I am really sorry if I have missed out a few names, but these are the few who kept writing and kept the lounge's spirit alive! I have been a regular reader here and trust me, we have some exceptionally talented people here now.

Moving on to the post...

October is the month... A season of festivals approaching!
I woke up this chilly morning...rubbing my eyes... pushing myself out of the bed, completely disinterested! I could hear my mom screaming at me that I would get late for the office. But sometimes when she screams this way, insted of getting irritated or mad at her, I smile and run to hug her! Her screams are my way of life now... and I am completely in awe of my mom... her zest towards life, the way she flashes that humble and sweet smile ocassionally... Love her!

Delhi is feeling the winter chill now. As the day approaches, a bleak ray of sun... a foggy morning... dew drops on the leaves and the feeling of wanting to be hugged by someone to beat the chill... I love it. As the day ends, a blanket of mist over the city, wishing everyone a good night... so that Delhi cuddles under this blanket and wait for another day... this is October here.

The markets decorated... people selling all kinds of stuff... from little things to decorate your house, to cart-pullers with their carts loaded with diyas...from gift items to crackers. After Dussehra, its Diwali time. This time of the year, it feels great to be a girl... helping mom with all the preparations at home, getting dressed up beautifully in a salwar kameez or a saree and greeting everyone coming your home with a big smile, a hug, loads of sweets and wishes. Festivals are that part of the year when all your problems seem to take a back seat and you are ready to let your hair loose and party!

This Diwali... I wish each one of you a happy life ahead. May these lights brighten up your day, your future. May Lord Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi shower their blessings on you! May all the troubles vanish, and may happiness and prosperity be with you always.

Diyas that spread light
Igniting the spirit within
With silent prayers and hopes that now
All will be good
Live it up with joy
Its a day to enjoy!

Here is wishing each one of you and your family members a very happy and a prosperous Diwali. :)

My request...please say NO to crackers. but even if you wish to burn crackers, please be safe!! :D

Give Me What I Want!!

She sat alone... Whining... Crying... Her eyes red, full of tears, her foreheadresting on her palm. Alone in a big house she sat, with no one who could wipe her tears!

"What have I done?" she asked herself.
This was not the first time she felt this way. Time and again life bestowed her with pessimism.  But she knew...she loved being happy. She wanted someone to pamper her, someone to lift her up, someone who could be a kid when she wanted to play a big smart girl and someone who would keep a watch over her when she becomes a kid while rolling down a slide! If this is what she wanted...why was she alone today... all by herself?? This loneliness was killing her.

Do YOU dread such a day in your life?? I DO!!

Guess what... there is some bad news and there is some good news as well. Lets end this post with a happy note...so that means the bad news comes first!

The bad news is that... EACH ONE OF US will see such a phase ib our life when he/she will be alone... in the same situation that I described! When you would pick your phone to make just any random call and flip through your phonebook... you would find not even a single name you want to call. That is life! Strange, weird...you hate it... yet you want to live it each day. :)

Now the good news... EACH ONE OF YOU who sees himself/herself in such a situation can deal with it. Know how? Just be yourself and do what makes you happy. You get up and feel like crying? Cry...if that is what makes you happy! You get out on the road and you have 10 friggin bucks in your pocket and all you want is a bar of chocolate. Hah...don't mind... go get one! You know you have seen a lot of what you don't deserve and you also know that it's time to do what YOU want! You love that sparky YELLOW?? And you know... you would be looked down as an alien when you wear it? 'YELL OW'er them and go for it because if yellow was that bad a colour, why would someone even teach you in your kindergarten what YELLOW is?? :P

I know we can't always be SELFISH and live for yourself, but sometimes when nothing seems to go the right way... you need to do this! They say great things come in small packages. Two days of spending your life your way can give you an year full of satisfaction!

Live happily, Live Sensibly! :)

Happy Birthday

Hello people,

Its time to wish someone today... Someone who sweeps me off my feet with his style of writing... someone who is genuinely the sweetest person I have come across.

*Brings a cake*

*Sings*

*Happy Birthday to you*

Dearest Abhrajit (aka h),

I am glad to have met you. You are truly an amazing guy! I first thought you to be a jester, but you are an amalgamation of so many colors...some bright, some sober. :)
All of us from The Writers Lounge wish you a very very happy birthday and may this birthday bring with it loads of happiness and luck in your life. :)

Your words
Your smile
The way we leave all our worries
And talk for a while

That smile
Still lingers on my face
I keep smiling
And you still can't put a finger on why?

Oh dear, its you
The one who spreads happiness
And I keep smiling thinking
That I just found a great friend

A friend
I can look up to
Every single moment
And that is you! :)

That is a small dedication from me to you Abhri.

Have fun! :D

God bless!!

Been There, Done That... Will DO It Again!

Ever since I came back from Chennai on 28th July, days passed by like whooooosh! :)
It was time again...time for Penguin to meet her Grasshopper. After spending a few days in Bangalore and meeting up some uber cool people, Penguin was waiting at the railway station for her train to Chennai... the train that was scheduled at 11.45 PM. I reached the station at 9.30 PM... so technically I had 2 hours for myself and my random thoughts that were crowding inside my head. Ever read 'P.S. I love you'? ... I love that book...or wait, may be I hate it! Why? Simple, because its so damn romantic!!
After flippin' a couple of pages, Penguin was lost in her thoughts... thoughts about_____!! (Fill it up yourself...). I somehow love reading books... imagination runs freely! :P

My train finally arrived...and after safely keeping my baggage, I reached for my berth and took out my mobile from my bag.

'FL??'
'Yep...ssup missy?? Enjoying huh??'
'Loads.... reaching Chennai tomorrow morning. Can you meet?'

Next morning I reached Chennai and I was greeted by my friend Sowmiya's message! I was waiting for Grasshopper's message, but I really knew it that he would be sleeping... sleeping like a drunkard... lol! And you know what...?? When I was in train, Mr.Grasshopper actually messaged me asking if I wanted him to come and receive me at the station. Lol! I know he loves his sleep and hence I did not want to disturb his morning dreamy sleep and there he was sleeping...without any disturbance! :P
Someone didn't even message me that morning. Finally after waiting for around 5 hours, I took up my phone to make a call. By that time, all my patience had gone for a toss! The call got connected, and it started ringing... almost when the call was about to get disconnected... I heard a voice...
'Hello Penguin.'
'What are you up to?'
'Oh, I just woke up sometime back. My friggin' alarm didn't ring.'
'Nice! What plans? Come to Anna Nagar. Mom wants to meet you.'
'Ok, Sure. Will be there in 1 and a half hour atleast.'
I was angry on him, remember? I mean he didn't call me only! But the moment I heard his sleepy voice, it was all gone. He finally came to Anna Nagar and I went to pick him up on scooty. He came, met my mom. My mom likes him so much that she teams up with grasshopper to tease me! :P

We were off to where... umm... no idea! We thought about it for a few moments and finally ended up deciding to go to the same place where it all began... Mocha... and once again, it was Mocha callin'. The place is not very good as such... but the fact that it all started there makes it special for me. The fact that that was the place where I realized that he was a great guy... a great friend... someone who can listen to the endless crap that I talk... someone who would charm me back even if I fight with him like an idiot. Finding a place to sit in Mocha was difficult this time. But in a few minutes, we found a good place to sit. We sat and as it has always been, we talked and laughed and fought and made up for it and laughed again and hugged. Grasshopper has always been special for his Penguin... I have seen loads of ups and downs (mainly downs) with him... but, there is something that keeps us together and I don't want to know what that something is. Grasshopper, for the very first and may be the last time, I am giving you all the credits for keeping our friendship alive. Had it not been you, we would have surely parted ways by now!

After hogging on sandwiches and blackcurrant cooler, we called up Heena and asked her if she could meet us. She agreed. At about 5.30, we walked our way to Ishphani. Heena came, we all chatted for almost an hour and it was again...time for me to go home! Sigh! Grasshopper dropped me at T.Nagar and we bid goodbye with a hug! :)

You know what, sometimes I have a hundred reasons to hate him... but I also have a thousand reasons to be with him. I wasn't well when I reached Chennai, but I felt just fine...superfine when I was with him. There is something more than love or friendship. I always say that there are a few relations that do not have a name. Penguin-Grasshopper one is one of them. My heart races when he is around... also when he is not around and his thoughts crowd my mind. It aches to part... it pains to say 'bye' to him... I talk to him for hours together, but many people call me introvert... does that mean that my heart speaks to him...? Yes!

This time when we said 'bye' to each other... it wasn't paining much! Why? Because I knew that we were destined to meet over and over again.

I am back home... but not completely. I missed a part of me somewhere... and that somewhere is Chennai... I hope Grasshopper keeps it safely!

Glory in the making ... contd

Continued from Glory In Making...

I hope Artz does not mind my stealing a para from her work, Just to keep the continuity. :)

Glory does not last long. Dreams shatter and we get hit hard on the face. Kriti was a good girl but it was difficult when the old lady passed away. Her distant relatives threw Kriti to square one. Abondoned her and there she lay again where she was before. All this happened years back. There was a difference this time. Kriti was stronger.

Her cell phone rang.

"Hi I am Ajay, i wanted to meet you today"

"Me too"

"I'll pick you up from Chandni Chowk near Babu's sweet shop, that's ok right?"

"On the way to your home can we stop at the lake near Keshav colony, I need five minutes"

"Yes , I have heard about your ritual, no problem as I hear that makes you even better"

She cut the phone. And started getting ready for the discourse.

It was routine now, the dress, the makeup , the drill. She looked at the mirror. It was ok now she would forget the rest.

"The wind started to blow and the dark clouds made way for the moon to appear. She raised her head to see the moon beaming and smiling at her. She remained perplexed for the next few minutes, unsure of what these signals meant."

"Hurry up will you"- Ajay called from inside the car.

She got ready for the drill. She had to kill her soul again. The needle was her friend. In the misty moonlight cocaine shot up through her veins like frenzy. She jerked to keep standing and took two deep breaths. She took one last look at the moon, was it smiling in sarcasm? she gave a fuck! Her face stern now and then the everlasting smile of the moon found her face. So reachable yet never even close to reality, the mystics of the moon and now Kriti herself. Seen and loved by all but seldom ever touched. Kriti turned still hazy and walked towards the car. Her hair shining in the moonlit night.

Glory In Making...

Kirti stood there gazing at the moon and her eyes brimming with tears. She worked as a domestic help at the Kapoor’s. A domestic help… that meant no freedom, no education… in short, no life!
She had always thought that her master was a good man. That night was different. He returned home, completely drunk! When all the others in the family had slept, Mr. Kapoor entered Kirti’s room and had sexually assaulted her!
‘What did I do to deserve such a fate? My mother deserted me when I was four and ever since then I have been struggling… for a living, for a respectable life. They say my mom was a prostitute and call her names. I never wanted to be someone like her and hence, I ran away from all of them. And today again I am at one such juncture in my life… I am being forced in to something that I know will ruin my life forever! Help me lord… and tell me, do you think I deserve this?’ she cried giving rise to a million other questions inside her.
She was sure of at least one thing… she was not weak. She was a fighter!
The wind started to blow and the dark clouds made way for the moon to appear. She raised her head to see the moon beaming and smiling at her. She remained perplexed for the next few minutes, unsure of what these signals meant.
Suddenly she felt a comforting touch on her shoulder. The old lady sat next to Kirti and asked her the reason behind her tears. Kirti told her everything that she witnessed and felt. The old lady patiently listened to everything and she hugged the little girl.
‘What is your name my child?’ the old lady enquired.

‘My problem is much bigger right now that these silly things like my name… can you please help me? Anyway, my name is Kirtishe said feeling irritated and traumatized.

‘Kirti means glory… and there will be a day when the whole world will know you. You are hurt, I understand. But I know you are not weak. Life means struggle… each one of us face it at one point or the other. And trust me, every problem has a solution and your problem has its own.’

The old lady took Kirti with her to the little home that she ran for homeless children. Kirti found a new home where she was made to study, to learn other vocational activities which would help her in future.
At times when she felt low and lonely, she would walk to the same place and would gaze at the moon and see moon would be back smiling at her. Kirti had found a new life for herself; she knew it that she would make it big one day! She promised to herself that she would prove everyone wrong who said that a prostitute’s daughter would have to be a prostitute herself. Glory in making!

Block-Free

I am suffering from what is known as the "Writer's block". I saw Artz's loop poetry and was so fascinated that I asked her about it. She instead told me to come with a loop poem on Writer's Block. So then, with some help and guidance from Artz ..I came up with this :)

You go on surfing various blogs
Blogs that show the update
“Update yours”, she pleads
Pleads on top of her voice

Voice that echoes in me
Me who has a “Writer’s Block”
Block which ain’t allowing me to write
Write something new and happening
“Happening”...Guess that’s what’s lacking

Lacking is the time
Time is such a lame excuse
Excuse not to write a word
Words which sadden and amuse

Amuse us when we are lazy or bored
“Bored to death” I am, is that the reason?
Reason which is again such a lame one
One which puts me to shame

Shame should not stop me, oh c’mon
C’mon dude, Pick up the pen
“Pen is mightier than the sword, right”
“Right it is”, I hear an echo
Echo your flow of words now, Will you?

You asked me to write
Write what I have been feeling
Feeling that Writer’s Block
Block that messed everything
Everything that is now sorted out…

Thanxs Aarthi :)

Flashback | Final Part

Previously in our lives,

Her Story

After Landmark, we thought of our next destination! Wonder why? Simple, because Grasshopper is habitual to flying around places… Lol!

We decided to go back to the beach. After Besant Nagar beach, it was time for Marina. A 10 minutes ride…and there we were! :) Sand, balloon-shooting, raw mangoes, ice-cream and chat-wallas…finally we were at Marina.

I could hear the sound of the waves,
Could he hear what my heart wanted to say?
Or was he lost gazing at the sea,
Making it keep to me what I see or what I feel…

We sat at a little distance from the water…yes, Penguin was going and this time Grasshopper wanted to talk to his Penguin.

He was sitting right next to me. My heart, for the first time, had stopped racing. Something was strange! I don’t understand why I feel so comfortable sitting next to him, talking to him about everything under the sun! We talked a lot… about our ex’s, about his girl, about our crushes, about us…our friendship!

The sun was setting…and with every setting ray of the sun…my smile contracted a little… I wanted to be with him… Sigh! He then played a few songs on his mobile…and we kept listening to them, sang together! :)

Then it happened what I dreaded…we fought! But this time, it was short-lived. I looked at him…his sunglasses comfortably placed above his forehead; amongst his messy hair…he was looking handsome! I really knew it by now, I would be missing him… I would be missing all this… I sat there…still…gazing at the endless sea… With every rising tide, the tears swelled in my eyes, almost obstructing my vision… trust me, I did not want to cry!

‘Artz?’ he called out.

Just then, a tear tricked down my cheek. I cried…

“I’ll miss you”, I said.

He held me close to him…told me how much he would miss me…about how much I meant to him… He came closer, but this time…just to set my kohl right…

I love this dupid, don’t I? We both love each other. But yes, we are destined to be friends, the bestestest, and the closest!

It was 7.20 PM…I had to leave! He dropped me at T.Nagar…as we walked towards the crossing… he said,
“So, you are leaving, eh” and he punched his chest with his fist in the perfect SRK (Kal Ho Na Ho) style!

“I have to” , I said with a feeble smile.

We hugged…the most memorable hug ever…at the middle of the road…everyone saw us. At that very moment, nothing and no one mattered. He gently planted a kiss on my forehead that sufficiently justified how much he would miss me.

We silently bid good-bye.

I started walking towards my aunt’s place…I turned to look at him…he was there, standing, looking at me. I walked further…could not resist myself from turning back…he was walking, he had turned away. I was getting numb by now!

I walked more… but turned just the final time, with a wish in my heart to see him one last time, but he was gone… I stood there silent and motionless for a moment.

I turned again…just to reach my aunt’s place… a walk that seemed to have lost its meaning!

THE END OF A MAGICAL DREAM

His Story

The fear of separation is so vivid...it can only be realized when the time draws near. 12 hours, that was all she had, and me....i had just 3-4 of them. She would be gone....i knew that. But who would make my heart understand that? It thumps with her smile, stops with her look and races with her touch. For the last two weeks, my world revolved around her.
And now that she had to leave. All i could do was let my heart live on with the memories till she was back to recharge them again.

Marina Beach, Chennai
When people come to Chennai, this is one of the first places they visit. And tomorrow when she's leaving...i am taking her there. The height of irony. I tried to cheer up and bottle all the gloominess deep down inside me. After all, if i don't enjoy her company now...i might as well go home and cry. We held hands together and made our way to the beach. I didn't want to let go off her hand...nor could i, infact. :P

We roamed the sand, i shot balloons...yea yea i missed a few, much to her delight...
We sat closer to each other, nudging each other as though afraid of even the tiniest space between us. We chatted, we laughed. We spilled our secrets, we made wicked plans. We were the angels in heaven and the devils in crime. We listened to songs and sang along with it. We ate sugar candies and gazed at the sea. we fought over silly matters and made up asap. I ate snickers, she got the wrapper. She gave the killer look and i went into coma. She is HOT and i am COOL. she was my Penguin and me, her Grasshopper.

Sun, Sea, Sand and She....
The only thing missing was the band of musicians playing violins in the background. The sun was setting beyond the sea. She was going to miss me...i knew that for sure. I lay down on the sand and rested my head on her lap. She ruffled my hairs and smiled at me. I raised my hand and touched those lips....

I love that gal....we love each other..in a way that no friends ever loved before. Its a wonder isn't it? We come searching for love and then we end up loving each other's company and realise that sometimes its so, so much better to be with each other till the end than being lovers.

A tear trickled down her cheek.

'Damn you FL, i didn't want to cry today,'
she exclaimed.

I held her close not wanting the moment to end.

We were destined to be friends. The bestest, the closest. Far better than Monica, Phoebe or Rachel could ever be....far closer than Joey and Chandler have ever been, far romantic than Ross and Rachel have ever been together.

It was getting late...we postponed as much as we could, but ultimately time had us checkmate. We made our way slowly to the autostand and dropped her at T.Nagar. Within minutes the dream would end. I hugged her tight. A hug that she would always remember. Looked at her face for one last time...i didn't want her to leave. I fought against the desire to kiss her lips and gave her a peck on the forehead.

Even before we parted i knew how much i would miss this crazy little psycho! She walked away and turned to wave at me.....i started moving...didn't want her to see my crumpled face when she turned back again. The clouds were gathering....i knew my guardian angel was up there somewhere. I just wish he heard me when i said 'i can take care of myself. go be with her. she deserves more than one.'

The magic in the air.... what about it? It would lay dormant until summoned upon again.

It has been 14 days since we met....and today for the last time, 'the sun rose and sets with her'

The Beginning of a Long Wait

P.S| I will miss you....till we meet again

FLASHBACK |The Last Day| Part - 1

HIS STORY-

There are moments in your life when you feel like fighting against time. And again, there are times when you just want time to fast forward in rapid gear so that you could meet her.
One thing was blatantly clear. Penguin was going away. soon. There i stood in the fourth floor of Citi Center scanning the heads of people downstairs. She was not there yet.....not yet. I knew it would be our last meet.

I woke up that morning to her call. Her voice sounded sexy.
'What the fuck is wrong with me? I just woke up and started being all mushy mushy'...

'Its not ur head, its ur damned heart that needs tweaking', my inner voice sneered.

'Wake up, its 8', she gushed.
'Hmm....woke up already.'
'You coming na?'
'Of course...meet me at Citi Center by 12.'

I showered, got dressed, raided the refrigerator....kewl, found pizza!
I raced down the street, nearly got hit by a lady in a scooty, but hehe...she fell down and i started to run again...
By 12.15 i reached and there was no sign of madammoiselle. ARV was supposed to pick her up.

I went to Inox and saw nearly every movie house full...Harry Potter on the other hand was fast filling...and it was supposed to start any minute. i rang her up and she said get two tickets. ARV won't be joining us.

Should i bang my head somewhere or should i release a sigh of relief? Lols!

She arrived, running like the wind. Though i was supposed to be angry at her, I couldn't help smile at the weirdo... We were already late...but that didn't matter. She was with me...let everyone else go to hell! ;)

HER VERSION -
Simon Webbe says in his song –
“You both just click in a minute,
Well, baby it’s the eye contact,
Smile like that,
Click, click and you’re rolling…”

Penguin has been feeling the same ever since she met this guy!
But, sigh… Penguin was going back…very soon.

I got up frantically that morning. The first thing my eyes searched for was my phone…I had to call him up! I dialed his number…we wished each other a good morning in those sleepy voices and then chalked out the plan for the day… I had to meet him at 12!

Damn, this Chennai traffic… you won’t find it when you desperately want to get late, but you will surely find it when you want to be with someone (that special someone) as soon as possible!! Finally, after numerous calls from Grasshopper, I shamelessly reached late. Yes, he called again.

“Where are you Artz?” he said sounding fairly irritated. Oops!

“I am on the road opposite to the Citicentre. I’m just there…” I said.
And just when I said ‘bye’, he instantly shot back saying, “Don’t you dare keep the phone down. Keep talking to me till you are here at Inox…and now, please run!”

I was gasping for breath as I entered the mall and searched for the damned escalator…Finally!
Whoooooooosshhh…and there I was… At the third floor of Citicentre, I saw him standing there…looking at me!!
Ahem ahem…as usual, I went speechless. Duh!! What’s wrong with me, I thought.

As his hands reached mine to hold them, my eyes were fixed on his face. He occasionally looked at me, and there I was…walking past everyone, just looking at him…happily!

HIS STORY -
The opening credits of the movie was over....

Who cares?? We were finally in.... death eaters were chasing muggles on-screen, while off screen we pushed people along so that we could reach our seats....erm...our corner seats :P

The movie was good....but as usual i was much more happy to be sitting next to her and she her smile and giggle. Today was the last time i cud be as close to her as i was now....by tomorrow she would me hundreds of kilometers away. I shoved that thought into the deepest part of my crap of a brain and just enjoyed the last moments!

Damn! Again the word 'last'.

She smelled great.

Erm...anyways the couple next to us were behaving as if Hermione fed the guy love potion. He was all over his date. I couldn't help looking at them from time to time. Penguin kept on pinching me to remind me to divert the attention to the real movie!!

The movie ended and time was slipping away from us. Holding hands, we went to Subway. Her hands were warm....they always are. Gosh! I was going to miss her like crazy! I love you God....for bringing her to me. And don't be flattered, i also very much hate you for taking her back so soon!

HER VERSION -

And we were finally out of the theatre after a comical Harry Potter…thanks to the couple next to us! :)

Now, it was finally time for lunch…but lunch where was the question! We checked the food court and we found Subway!! I know, it’s yuck…but then, anything is yummy when he is around! Did someone say hopelessly romantic!?! :P

We got our food and we had to search for a place to sit…phew! That was one heck of a job! Everywhere we saw, we could see people swarming in as bees… buzzzzzz! Ha ha!

After waiting for a few minutes, we finally managed to find a place to sit! Meanwhile, we talked about everything under the sun… like a ‘foot-long’ resembles what and jeez…hopeless!
He ate and I kept looking here and there (that’s when he was looking at me) and otherwise, you know where my complete attention was! :)

We had to finish off our food asap and now, we straightaway hit off to Landmark, the book store. For a few minutes, we walked from one end of the store to another…and hell, as always, found no good book! He suggested me a book – ‘Of course I love you till I find someone better’…he he! :P

We bought snickers…and then… we enjoyed a little bit of pushing, fighting and hair-pulling session, and we left! :)

(Part - 2 Coming Soon...)
P.S.: Penguin from Antartica and Grasshopper from Chennai wrote this post together! Thanks to Vodafone and the internet... :)

Happy Birthday Grasshopper! ;)

Dearest Grasshopper ;) :D,

Before I say any goddamn thing, I am really sorry... my bloody sleep ditched me last night... could not call you at 12...but yes, I remember I called you at 1...
But... here's wishing you a very very very happy birthday! :)
*HUGS*
You are one helluva friend to me FL...trust me on this guys and being a narcissist he is, he will completely agree to what I just said about him. A completely adorable dodo, a sweetheart completely obsessed with himself.

Identifying him is so easy...he is that average college-going guy, wearing those wacky one-liner t-shirts, with a look of you-can't-take-me-to-your-mom. Lol... sorry! (I know i'll be killed for this.)
You know something? Amidst all those negatives, the first positive I saw in you was that you are diabetically sweet...and as adorable as a kid!! :D
This is one time of the year when you can get to know everything nice about you...and I won't miss this chance to thank you for all those sweet things that you have done for me in the last one fantastic month of my life!...from running for shelter in rains to shelling out all those extra bucks to those Chennai autowalas just to make sure that I don't wait alone! ;)

You are my bestestest friend...(I promise to you that) and you'll always be one! The bond that we both share is hard to be understood by anyone else. Its love...but the one that bestestest friends have, it is friendship (of course), its that kiddo-kiddo bond, its like...something that words can't describe.

Thank you for coming into my life...I needed someone like you very badly...like a fresh ray of hope you came and promised to stay forever...what else could I ask for! ;) Thank you so much!

All the best to you...keep your girl happy. (Yea guys, I am not the one and now, thank you for all those raised brows.)
Don't fight with me for anything written over here because its your birthday and I want you to stay alive and kicking atleast till its 12 AM again! Lol...

God bless you with all the happiness and success that you have always desired. Stay happy and I just pray that this birthday turns out to be the best till date!

Akele chalti rahi jaane kiski ummed mein
Dekha tujhe toh laga sab kuch alag sa
Hasna seekha tujhse
Rona bhi tha aaj tune sikhaya

Par woh aansu na nikle they dukh se
Har dukh mein bhi khushi mili
Jab thaama tha haath tune
Aye dost, fir mujhe ek nayi zindagi mili...

Happiest birthday to you ever FL... take care! :)

Your PENGUIN!! :D :D

P.S.: Guys, can we just flood this post with wishes for my grasshopper, please?? :)

Aaj... A Sequel

Baandha tha jis bandhan mein tujhe
Aaj usey hai maine khola
Jin sapno mein dekha tha tujhe
Unse maine hai naata toda

Mann mera aaj udne ko hai
Har khushi mere kadam choomne ko hai
Kara tha tera intezaar
Socha tha tu aayega

Ab na rahi umeed tere aane ki
Kar le tu mujhpar aaj yakeen
Ab un raaho par na rakhungi kadam
Jo nishani hai hamare un lamho ki

Kar liya hai maine khud se yeh wada
Is nayi subah ke saath
Udne doongi apne is mann ko
Piroyega yeh fir aaj naye khwab

P.S.: I wrote this after Pratsie's post titled Aaj... :)

Acrostic after a long time! :)

Protective about each other
Ever playing pranks
Never will they part their ways
God knows why they met so late
Unleashing their secrets
In no time
Now inseparable they are

Glowing is their friendship
Radiance personified
A thought for a second
Smiles are back on the lips
Sadness fades away
Heaven smiles at them
Oh, it feels so great
Praying that the saga continues
Praying that it gets better
Ever if you need me grasshopper
Rest assured you be, I AM HERE!

CONVERSATIONS...The other side!

'Promise you won't go'
'I promise'
'Love you'
'Lots?'
'Hmm'

Why do I hear those lines even today… after you have left me stranded.

Would you never come back and ask me the same thing again?

Can you hear it? I can…
'Love you'

'Lots?'

'Hmm'

Come back to me… will you? Please? Will you?
P.S.: Just tried to write a sad sequel to Freelancer's post. Am sorry FL if it has not come out well.

WL Meet-up - Chennai's Day Out

This it folks....the day we were waiting for....
We waited, we sweated....and then we met....
Chennai Meet has officially begun

The destination was Pizza Hut....nice place...nice chicks around...food had to be great..its pizza's for lord's sake :P
Kingsley was the first one there...standing dumbfounded....guess he searched inside for us....hope he didnt gt hold of some other gal thinking her to be aarthi :P
lols...so when we reached, john was already there...i was meeting him for the first time.....he's pleasant company...talks way too less and very much matured.
Jeez am J

okays we went in and chatted...the waiter was eyeing us with suspicion....hehe...and we kept on chatting. Aarthi and Kings started in Tamil and everything went over my head...i could only mumble ser seri from time to time. Gulshan rang up...said she was on her way!! she found an auto but had to run after it :P
She arrived bout 20 mins later...all in pink and yay!! we were 4 of us then.....

We chatted about ourselves.....i dun wanna get into details...but yes people...it was fun....we had a rollicking time....thoorika arrived late after we finished our pizza's hehe...

Over to Gulshan

I never knew apart from writers it will introduce me to some great friends too…when I came to know via Stephen that he has met a few writer’s from Lounge, I used to wonder if I will ever be able to meet anyone of them…coz the only guy I knew from Chennai in Lounge was Kings and till then we were as good as strangers….but finally Her Highness (Artz..she looks like one) descended from heaven, read Delhi (bad comparison :D) to earth, read Chennai….met her Prince Charming (FL…he is doesn look like though :P) and decided to meet some poor mortals like us….lol….

To cut the story short….it was WL’s first anniversary and some brilliant person(i-don’t-know-who) decided to keep a meet in Chennai…yes u read it right..here..in Chennai..the one in Tamil Nadu..Gosh I was so excited so happy and so down in fever ….my mom said no..even before I told her Sunday’s program..she made sure that I am on my bed, in my room, at the most if I can go anywhere it was within the four walls of my home ….poor me…but then I decided in the morning itself…I have to go..so I jumped out of bed, hopped and played around, fought with my brother and mom finally irritated..shooed me out from home :D :D

I was late but was finally there….after a lot of hungama of course..the place was new for all of us..so everyone was confused ….FL ko pakdo :P….but when I met them it was awesome…superb…too good…I don’t have words to describe…not even for a second I felt that I was meeting some new people…it was like as if we knew each other….we started with introduction and some leg pulling and reminders to FL that he wasn’t on date :P….then Kings ordered…oh I forgot to tell that we were in PizzaHut …which poor people had to select coz of me …because I said no to Mocha…sorry guys :(….

Kings was a calm and composed person of course the most mature and the “Gentlemen” type of guy…he was just as what I imagined him through his blog writings :)..felt great to meet him…

Artz was a great friend…a charming personality…she is literature graduate and handling some Building stuff business….wow..how do you even link it dear…anyways was fun all the time…cracking jokes and hi5’ing all the time….she was the second most mature person…above all I was wondering how she was juggling all the work and these frequent meetings at the same time..She was kind of a lost friend found :)

Freelancer a.k.a Mridu was really irritated because of me...he was even going to throw me out of the auto : ( heartless :D :D ….i kept pulling his leg all the time... and he kept cursing me because I didn’t leave him alone with Artz even on way :D :D…on a serious note…he was a great guy..fun to be with…think we can be great friends…and yeah..he is last in the list of maturity :P :P lol

Thoorika..she was late…very late…atleast she made me feel that I am not the only late lateef :P…she was kind of silent but smart….calm and composed ..her signature words being “Khalo” and “chalo” :D :D….I don’t think I heard anything else from her mouth whole day long…nice girl though..she dint step in water but as it was supposed to be…we got drenched way back home :D :D

Arv was supposed join us..but couldn’t because of his some commitments…anyways hoping to see him next time :) We spoke to Prats, Ste and other Bangalore people also :) They too met and it seems and enjoyed a lot :)

After PizzaHut it was beach..Kings couldn’t join us…but then we four were there…had fun….I made them all walk miles for Arun’s Icecream..hehehe..hope they aren’t cursing me….I was supposed to leave back at 3.30 or max by four…but then I didn’t wanted to leave and by the time we parted it was already 6.30….we all decided to meet next weekend for movie..Bidding goodbye to FL and Artz me and Thoorika left for home..and thus ended the tiring and happy day :)

I was sure of catching fever..but wow I was able to go to office today and write this post :)..i think happiness took over tiredness and fever was shown way to home :D :D I am too excited to meet these people and all of them again this coming weekend…hope it ll be even more fun and we ll bond even better :)

Love you loads guys…thanks for bearing me throughout the day :)

Heena

over to artz--

On Sunday, we experienced what we have always talked about – TWL is a family. Since you know about almost everything after reading Heena, I would just sum it up in a few words.

It is always good when you meet the one whom you know in this virtual world. Few months back I got a chance to meet Sandeep, my big bro! J

This Sunday I woke up wit a lot of excitement. I was going to meet some more members of my virtual family – Kings, Heena, Fl, Thoorz, Arv…

Sadly, Arv could not make it because of other commitments he had. Me, FL, Kings, Thoorz and Heena kept chatting… not even for a second did we realize that we were meeting for the first time. It seemed as if we knew each other since years.

Now I would just want to say a few things to all of you whom I met –

Heena - You rock! I just could not believe that you are just 19!! Your sense of humour just amazes me all the time! J You have an intense persona… very matured and I just loved your company. It was great meeting you and I hope our bond grows real strong!

Kings – Start talking da! I mean… he looks really matured, very focused sort of a person. Thank you for bearing with us throughout the Pizza Hut torture sessions. Lolz!

Thoorika – She has that killing cute smile on her face. She is so polite, so quiet… There is that warmth you feel around this girl. I just love your ‘KHAO’ and ‘CHALO’. The next time we meet I should see you TALKING!!

FL – Do I really have to say anything about you? Don’t you guys know it all? He is a jester, a sweetheart, a wonderful human being with a heart of gold. You rock!

The awesome beach time we enjoyed will be cherished by me always. Thanks to you Mr.Freelancer! :P

Thank you all for making it to the TWL Chennai meet. The feeling that you all have left me with can’t be described… it was wonderful. I love you guys…you are just fantastic

FL speak-

okays...me back again....John had to leave soon....pity arun, arv and dr.kumar coudn't make it. They would have loved the beach...Someone teach heena how to sit in an auto...she keeps falling off. We went to the beach and did some rifle shooting...i was showing off my nearly impossible to learn tricks :P
It was a day to remember.....a day where john nearly turned into a waiter, a day where aarthi nearly became smart....a day when thoorika nearly became Valentino Rossi...a day when Heena nearly became the next P.T Usha after showing off her sprinting skills behind an auto...and a day when i nearly revealed my true identity as BOND :P
Mostly it was a day of the Lounge....a lounge that sprung back to life.....rose like a phoenix from the ashes and now turned into a peacock...
huh? i am going bonkers i guess...too much beach water in my head

IT WAS A DAY WHEN THE LOUNGE WENT BEYOND THE INTERNET
We READ, We WRITE, We definitely LOUNGE

P.S| couldn't get John's and Thoorika's views today....don't mind folks...they would post it in their behalf soon. Moreover Sunday we are going for a movie :P
