The Crush

I had written this story some time back on my blog. Let me know if you like it...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The guy was standing at the entrance of the cafeteria, watching girls with rapt attention, saying to himself, "Will she come? Will she not?" But, no. She was no where to be seen. Sadly, he sat down on a nearby table. The bearer as usual arrived and asked if he required anything. He replied, "No, thanks."
PART 1
Rahul was a middle class guy studying in college. On the first day of college, he saw a wonderful girl, very different from others. Not that she was extremely good looking, but her mannerisms, the way she smiled, her nose wrinkled, her steps, everything made him go crazy about her. Sadly the girl was from a different department and so, there was less chance of them getting to know each other. However, as destiny would have it, one fine day, he got the opportunity to interact with this dream girl. It was just a coincidence. She had come to the library with one of her friends, looking for a particular book, but was unable to find it. Rahul had a glimpse of her from one end of the shelf and suddenly felt the urge to speak to her. But, being very shy, he could not gather much courage. He egged himself on and ultimately went forward and said, "Excuse me, miss, I think you are looking for this book." The girl was initially surprised, but then smiled and said "Thank you". She took the book and just walked away. Rahul was kept standing there. He understood that he had missed a golden opportunity of interacting with his dream girl. Later that day, he spoke to his room mate in his hostel about the incident. He told his friend how expressive her eyes were, the way she smiled, the way she got surprised, everything about her was so mesmerizing, so magical. His friend laughed out loud and said, "Never mind dost, you would get more opportunities, I am sure." For the next few weeks, Rahul did not see her. He wondered if something was wrong, but he was unable to find the right person to ask about her. Finally, he got to know that there had been a calamity in her family which had forced the girl to take leave.But the pain remained, he wished he could be of some help to her at such an ill-fated moment. Finally, the wait was over. She was back. A bit tense, a bit pensive, traumatic, but nevertheless attractive as ever. Rahul thought to himself, "Today, I need to speak, no matter what the outcome would be." He approached her, "Hi, this is Rahul. We met that day in the library. Do you remember?" The girl stared at him and slowly said, "Yes, I do remember." Rahul: "So, may I know your name and are we friends?" She replied, "My name is Aindrilla, but I would need to think before accepting a stranger as my friend. Got some work. Would you mind if we talk later?" Rahul said, "Well... nope... surely, please go ahead.". The poor guy was left standing. This was not the exact start he was looking for. The girl seemed so very organized, sober and cool at her first demeanour. But is it like "What you see is NOT what you get" ? Surely, Rahul needed to investigate more. There are more shadows to a woman than one could imagine and this woman seemed no different.Suddenly he felt a bit sad. Was it that she was not liking him, misinterpreting his overtures as something else? He did not wish to think. It also dawned on him that he had fallen hopelessly in love with her, although he did not know anything about her. She could be engaged to someone. There could be painful incidents in the prime of her life which had made her lose all interest in love and its derivatives! Oh.. he suddenly felt a bit dizzy.
PART 2
Aindrilla returned to her room after a hectic day at college. She got herself freshened up and started thinking over the day's incidents. The college was not as bad as she thought it to be. After the tragic death of her grandmother, whom she was so close to, she really looked forward to enjoying here. Afterall, she needed to divert her mind and get accustomed to the loss.Her roomie Sandhya came and asked, "Hey tamatar, how was your day today? haan... " Aindrilla smiled at her and said, "Well, it was good yaar. Today professor Jadav gave a wonderful lecture on Particle Dynamics. He was so fast, I had to literally use shorthand to take down the notes. Even the lab sessions were nice. I have started liking the place, yaar."Sandhya chuckled and asked,"What about the guys, sweetheart? Did you find anyone worth a second glance?"Aindrilla: "Tu bhi yaar... I haven't had that much interaction with anyone till now, but most of them seem okay. Few of them are flirts like anything. Ladki dekhi nahi ki shuru... Arey, today I met a guy... My goodness me! I saw him once in the library. He had helped me out with finding a book and now, he wants friendship. Ufff... What a flirt!" Sandhya: "Come on yaar, did you ask his name?"Aindrilla: "Who cares yaar? I have seen hundreds like that. I stopped short of giving him a piece of my mind today. Next day, I won't spare him, if he approaches again."Sandhya: "Peculiar dear? What happened? Did he misbehave?"Aindrilla: "Nahi nahi, not like that. He seemed friendly, but sooner or later, he would come to the same topic as any other flirt. I am sure."Sandhya: "Come on yaar, don't be a spoilsport. If he wants friendship, what is the harm in it, yaar. See I am engaged to Suraj for five long years and what a sweetheart he is!"Aindrilla suddenly lay flat on her bed, staring straight at the ceiling: "Hey Sandi! I don't think like that! My darling would be a handsome prince, he would be wealthy, powerful and sexy. I would fall head over heels over him at first glance. The boys out here do not fire my imagination. These are just timepasses. And I hate guys who are only too eager to get hold of a girl. These kinda guys are never reliable. Hopefully your Suraj is not like that."Sandhya: "Aha.. is it like that? ok... we'll see dear... I have seen many instances of girls as stern and robust as you are, who have melted like ice and crumbled like a pack of cards, when they have fallen in love."Aindrilla: "Ok... take it as a challenge!"
PART 3
The next few days Rahul thought a lot about the mysterious girl. He suddenly found out that out of 24 hours a day, he would spend 12 hours thinking about her alone. It was having serious implications on his studies as well, as he was not able to concentrate on tasks at hand. His roomie noticed this and told him that he should make friends with someone who knows the girl well, else, it would be difficult to coaxe the girl into meeting him. Rahul thought for a moment and said, "Yes yaar, I have seen a girl with her often. She is very friendly and seem very close to her. Lets see, if I can have a chat with her." The next day only, Rahul saw Aindrilla's close friend.Without the slightest hesitation, he approached. Rahul: "Excuse me..." Sandhya: "Yes, wanna say something to me?" Rahul: "Yeah.. well actually I am from the same year as you. Mechanics department. Can we be friends?" Sandhya smiled and said: "Hey nice to meet you. This is Sandhya and am from the Civil department." Rahul: "Thanks Sandhya... So you are alone today? Where is your friend?" Sandhya:"Who? Aindrilla? Oh she would be coming late. Well do you know her?" Rahul had his heart in his mouth for a moment but he tried to remain composed and answered as coolly as possible. "Oh... no no... that was a casual question. I often see both of you together. So asked about her..." Sandhya: "Ok..." She suddenly glanced at her watch and said, "Oops. I am already late for my class. Cya sometime later. Ok?" Rahul: "Sure"
Rahul thought that the drama had gone as he had wanted.
Sandhya hurried on for the class. As usual she was again late. The professor had started teaching in full swing. Once Sandhya reached, the professor gave her a stern look and glanced at his watch. Aindrilla had in fact reached before her although she was supposed to come late. After the class Aindrilla giggled at Sandhya and said, "Well Sandi, you have made quite a name for yourself as Late Latif. Koi appointment thaa kya?" Sandhya: "Don't ask yaar. I met a guy.... oh what was his name? umm... yeah, Rahul and forgot that I had this class. Arey you know he was asking about you... !!!" Aindrilla: "What? me? I mean, why? I don't think I remember anyone by that name!!!" Sandhya: "Oh no no... he also said he doesn't know you and he just asked since he had got used to seeing both of us together and as you know sweetheart, you were not there today!"
Aindrilla thought for a moment, "Tell me how he looks." Sandhya: "Uff.. I can't describe him like that. Lets go to the canteen and if I see him, I will have both of you introduced to each other. Ok?" Aindrilla: "Hmm... Sandi, don't say you are upto something. Am not falling or it, ok?" Sandhya: "Arrey no yaar. You asked about him. That's why I said. Ok? Even if you get introduced to him, what's the harm?" Aindrilla: "ok ok... You are much superior when it comes to arguing, first God and second you... I agree.." Both of them walked off from the classroom and saw Rahul standing at the entrance of the canteen. Sandhya walked in front of him and said: "Hey Rahul, this is my friend, Aindrilla. Aindrilla, meet Rahul." Aindrilla: "Hello... but I think we know each other, right?" Rahul: "Yeah.. " Sandhya: "But Rahul, you said you do not know her?" Rahul was in a soup now. Somehow he muttered," Well, she did not accept me as a friend, so how could I say, I know her. Besides, it is a fact since I know nothing about her except her name!" and tried to smile... Aindrilla: "Rahul, for you my name is enough. Okay? Sandi I think I am getting late and have some more important works at hand. Do you mind, if I leave." Sandhya: "Hey, wait. I'll also go. Sorry Rahul. I'll talk to you later." Rahul was left stranded where he was. For the first time he felt an adrenaline rush. He was getting angry. What the hell did the girl think of herself! Was she a princess or what? And how dare she insult him like that! And he did not think he had said or done something derogatory to her dignity. Something was wrong definitely but what was it?Aindrilla hurried on to her hostel room. Sandhya went after her and got hold of her. "What is wrong with you tamatar? Why did you behave like that? I don't think the guy said or did something so as to hurt you! Then? Look at me. Tell me, what is wrong!" Aindrilla looked at her. And then, Sandhya could not believe what she saw, her friend's beautiful eyes were aflush with tears. Sandhya: "You? Crying? Why?" Aindrilla suddenly put her arms round Sandhya and continued to sob hugging her Sandi as tightly as ever...
PART 4
Rahul could not have as much as a wink of sleep that night. He thought about the incidents the day before. His Roomie asked him numerous times about it, but to no avail. He kept mum the whole evening and then at night as well. As the hours passed by, anger gave way to sadness, melancholy. It always happened like that. Whenever he happened to like or love someone,invariably they would get snatched away from him by the cruel scheme of destiny. He remembered he had a cute kitten who would play with him day in and day out and one day she was gone forever, never ever to return again. He was very close to his grandmother as well and she too left for her heavenly abode. He had fallen hopelessly in love with this girl, but herreactions hurt him. How could she be so heartless? [sigh] There was nothing he could do. He needed to move on, look for greener pastures. But what is the guarantee that the same story would not get repeated! Oops! No! He was losing his self confidence. Shit yaar! How could he! Forget it! Everything would be normal again. The show must go on!He felt a bit rejuvinated and set out for the college after hurrying through the morning chores. After a long time, he attended all the lectures, answered tough questions posed by the professors, tried to concentrate on studies more than ever before and also found out that Einstein's theory was not as difficult as he had thought before! His bosom friends were pleasantly surprised. After a tiring day, he was ready to go home. And just when he was at the exit, he saw her... Sandhya... He did not feel an urge to speak to her! "Girls are all the same", he thought. But he could not avoid. Sandhya stopped him on his way and said,"Hey Rahul, I am very sorry for whatever happened yesterday. Please do not get her wrong. She is very depressed." Rahul did not utter a word for a moment or two.Finally he said,"So?"Sandhya: "Lets see dear. First tell me, are you serious?"He silently nodded his head in affirmation.Sandi: "umm... ok, let me see what can be done... bye"Sandhya silently walked off. She was still thinking about the incidents last night. Aindrilla had cried and cried. Sandi could finally steady her and asked her,"Tell me what is it! And do not cry! Else I will give you a tight slap! Look at me."Aindrilla had then narrated what she had gone through in her past, how she had loved someone with her everything, how she had been ditched and humiliated, how her love had walked off with another bitch! It was pathetic! She had lost all her trust on men. She had come to realise that whatever men looked for in a woman was not love, she shuddered to think what it was! Her beliefs had only been strengthened by the growing number of incidents of a variety of physical and mental harassment that women faced regularly in their day to day life. She hated men! Yes! She hated men! Sandi let out a silent sigh. The task was extremely tough for her and more so, for Rahul to win her love. What was the way out? She would speak to her today. Yesterday, she had been too traumatised to even utter a single word. Finally she reached her door and found it locked from inside. Aindrilla had not gone to classes. The whole day, she had kept herself locked inside. Sandi knocked on the door. One, two, three, four... After four knocks, the door opened.
Sandi: "Hey hi tamatar! What did you do the whole day?"
Aindrilla: "Nothing jaan... just slept through.."
"Yeah yeah that is evident from your swollen eyes. By the way, it was good that you blurted everything out yesterday. See you must be feeling lighter now."
"Ya.. true Sandi... "
"Hey you know, I met Rahul today! You won't believe, he seemed so sad!"
"hmm..."
"I tell you one thing tamatar, the guy is not bad! Why don't you meet him once and get to know him in person..."
"I have told you everything jaan... Why do you insist? IT WOULD SIMPLY NOT HAPPEN!!! I don't have a heart any more"
"Arre... be friends with him. Speak to him. He is not gonna bite you, is he? So what's the problem?"
"Hmm... I'll think about it. Lets have something to eat now. I feel hungry..."
"Arre thik hai yaar... come to the kitchen... lets make parathas and gobi ke sabji..." :-P
"Yeah... would like that very much jaan..."
They had a nice time out in the evening making parathas and savouring on them later on...
PART 5:
Rahul felt a tad happier. Will Sandi be able to do some trick? Hmm... who knows! She was Aindrilla's best friend and roomie as well. She might be able to convince her. He slept in peace that night. At night he dreamt that he was cycling down a certain highway in the fog. There was a river flowing beside with a sweet sound of flowing water. The birds were chirping merrily. The weather was chilly. And as he was cruising along the highway, a red scarf caught her attention. It was entangled in a branch of a tree. The scarf appeared somewhat known to him. Yes, it was Aindrilla's. But where was she? Oh there she was! As stunning as ever. Standing at a distance. Eyes closed, as if feeling the cold air. Her long hair swaying gently in the breeze. Her hands outstretched, as she tried to feel it with her soul and mind. Rahul was left stranded. Heforgot where he had to go, who he was... rather he wanted to forget everything. He wanted to live in the moment. Just then he felt rain drops on his body. Ooooh! So cold! He needed shelter! But where is she? Did she take shelter somewhere else? And his cycle! Oh God! And then he saw his roomie!"Get up Shahenshah Akbar! I am ready for classes already and it's 9:30 AM."Rahul woke up with a start. Shit. He was dreaming again! He hurried up and was just in time for the classes. On the way, he saw both of them together again. It seemed Aindrilla gave her more than a passing glance. And did she smile? Oh no no! Figment of fertile imagination! He needed to concentrate on studies! Later on, he would speak to Sandhya.
PART 6:
The professors gave their lectures one after the another. Little went inside Rahul's head. The more he tried to forget about the morning's encounter, the more he felt restless. At the recess, he got in touch with Sandi, when Aindrilla was not with her.
Rahul: "Hi Sandi"
Sandhya: "Hi Rahul"
"Any updates?"
" [smile] You are so impatient! Wait dear. I have spoken to her. She has not agreed yet. But, I shall be able to coaxe her into meeting you in person, I assure. But..."
"But? What?"
"But, promise me, if she really falls for you, you would not ditch her. Promise?"
"Yes. I promise."
"Ok... gotta go now. I would let you know of any updates."
"Can I have her cell number?"
"No. She is not ready yet. When, it's time, you would have it. Okay? Bye."
Saying so, she hurried away.Rahul wondered whether there was light at the end of the dark tunnel. Well, it was difficult to guess the temperament of girls. They hardly meant whatever they said. At least that had been his experience till then. Slowly he walked off to his classroom.After the classes were over, Aindrilla and Sandhya went off to their hostel. After relaxing a bit, both of them started chatting about the day's incidents. Finally, Sandi said:"Did you give a thought?"
"A thought... !!! to what?"
"About the guy... Rahul.."
"Why do you insist jaan?"
"Aindrilla, he is very serious about it. At least meet him once. If you happen to not like him, you can always reject. But at least see him once."
"[sigh] Okay. Fix a date."
"Oh great. Tamatar! muaah! Let me talk to Rahul and we'll fix an appointment for you."
PART 7:
Finally the date was fixed. It had to be the cafetaria at the end of the Fancy Market Road. Sunday evening.
Rahul was standing at the entrance of the cafeteria, watching girls with rapt attention, saying to himself, "Will she come? Will she not?" But, no. She was no where to be seen. Sadly, he sat down on a nearby table. The bearer as usual arrived and asked if he required anything. He replied, "No, thanks."
He could not figure the issue. Sandy had called him and spoken clearly about it. It was fixed well in advance. Then? Aindrilla was supposed to come at 5 pm and it was 5:30 pm already. As Rahul grew restless, he decided to call up Sandy and just when Sandy's cell started ringing, he saw her... "Wow", he thought. Clad in a white kurti, she looked like an angel. For a moment or two, Rahul could not speak.
Aindrilla: "Helloooo!!!!" [as if to break his day dream]
Rahul: "Oh.. am so sorry... well, please be seated. So, hopefully you did not have much trouble coming here. Did you?"
"No"
"So, are we friends now?"
"Hmm, yes, why not!"
"Thanks, you know what Aindrilla, I had been waiting for this day since ages. And today you are in front of me."
"Hello! Don't start getting ideas. Ok? The fact that I have come to meet you doesn't necessarily imply that I have fallen for you or something like that! Yes, ok, we are friends. But as of this moment, nothing more than that.."
Rahul smiled and said,"Will you have some water? You spoke non-stop.."
"No. Thanks."
"Will you have something? Coffee or icecream or drinks? I know you would say "no", still...."
Rahul called up the bearer and ordered two chilled coffee and they started chit chatting about this and that. He cautiously cut out the 'romance' part and rather concentrated on general mundane topics that he would occasionally discuss with friends. Finally, Aindrilla had a glance at her watch and declared she needed to leave, since it was already 7:00 pm by then.
Rahul asked,"Ok. Lets move. So, did you like meeting me today?"
"Means?"
"Oh I mean, hopefully you enjoyed hanging out with me today."
"Yes. It was fun." Aindrilla smiled.
"Hey thanks! So will we meet again, soon? Next week? Same time, same place?"
"Ok"
And thus, they continued meeting each other on weekends and chatted for hours. But Rahul had a jinx... a confusion. He was wondering where his one way crush was headed. Since, Aindrilla had already made her intentions clear (about continuing only as friends), he had failed to raise the issue again. He was afraid that their weekend rendezvous would end if he pressed the panic button. Will Sandy be able to help? No. Sandy was no more interested. She made it clear the other day that her task was to get the two of them to meet up. Ater that she would leave the scene. She had done exactly that. *sigh*
But, there was more drama waiting. One fine evening Rahul saw Aindrilla holding hands with a stranger and sharing the same ice cream. He could not bear the site and decided to call up Aindrilla immediately. He made his concern very clear. But she said,"Did I not tell you? We are just friends. Ok? And who are you to keep a watch on me? Its entirely upto me. Whom I would meet or hang out with is none of your business. Is that clear?"
Rahul could not reply back. He just hung up the phone. He felt a choking sensation in his throat. Finally, the one way traffic had come to a "dead end". The crush had been crushed oh so cruelly! He deleted Aindrilla's and Sandy's numbers from his cell. As his family was slotted for a transfer, he decided to change his college. Never ever did he call Aindrilla again. Never ever did they meet again...Today after 10 years, Rahul is well settled in another city. But still... he thinks if it would have been appropriate for them to continue as friends. But then, he had chosen to die rather than live on a life support system........
And what happens can never be reverted back. No regrets. No sadness. Life has moved on. Life has to move on. But hey, what is this drop on his lap? A stray tear ...running down his cheeks?
The Kidnap
"Ruko!" she shouted as she ran behind the bus. "Stop!"
But it was of no use, the bus sped off, leaving her huffing and puffing in a cloud of dust. She stopped, sighed and threw her bag on the road. How would she get to work NOW?!
"Madam! Handbag you want? Sandal?" a little urchin asked with a cheeky grin.
"Nahi nahi, paise nahi hain. No money.” came her automatic response. She was used to these beggars and peddlers by now.
"Madam Ji, aap se paise maange kya maine? Aap item toh dekho."
She took a closer look at the cart in the child's hand. It seemed to contain an assortment of oddities. One golden sandal, a blue handbag with no strap, a shiny purple button, a frayed piece of ribbon...
With a curious look she took the handbag from the cart, it was so similar to the handbag she had just thrown on to the ground, except that her bag had a strap to it.
“Ye kitne ka hain?"
“Sirf Yahin chayiye madam?" He still had that cheeky grin on his face.
Tum chup chap batao nahin toh …..
Her phone started ringing
“The child troubling you Kavita eh? You are getting late my dear, aren’t you?”
“Who’s this?”
Ha! Do you think I am gonna tell you …Anyways Listen …..Take all the things from him. And give him a hundred bucks. Poor kid. We have already paid him 500. Look at him. Doesn’t he look really happy?
Who the ……??
Look up to your right, Will you?
As Kavita looked up she saw her good friend standing at the terrace of a nearby building.A gun pointing to his forehead.
“Naman”
Now you know what to do? Do As I say.
Kavita finally gave in.
Ok now what?
Eh? Good Question.
You didn’t get a bus, did you? Delhi I tell ya. But hey no problem. Take that rickshaw to your left. The poor guy hasn’t got a customer so far. He will be glad to take you to Lodhi Gate.
As she reached Lodhi gate, now what?
“Hello Hello”
The man had disconnected.
The phone rang again. This time it was naman.
“Kavita don’t do anything what these people say …go straight to your office plzz.pl…”
“Eh? Good try Naman Sorry for the disconnection Sweety. The Building to the left of CCD. Somebody will be glad to see you in B-44.”
As Kavita rang the bell, nobody responded. The Door was already open.
“There’s no one here.”
“I know.”
“What?”
“Well what is it near the wall hanging on the left of the television that you see?”
“A Calendar.”
“And what’s the month?”
“What the….. *Shit*”
A loud mixture of Laughs chuckles and giggles filled the room.
Kavita wasn’t too amused.
The Shock
"hey rocker,sun life sucks man," Neil said to Vijay.
Vijay was a retired chartered accountant who worked hard to support his family. His wife died when his daughter was born.
'Fuck off man, you lazy old fella,look at me,"Vijay replied.
"Get some chicks man,you old ass," he added.
"Dude,me not interested,I've had enough of them during my youth,"Neil replied.
"You fool,loser," Vijay said .
Neil was a sinister during his early 20's .He was a spoiled person.He enjoyed life as much as he could.He never really cared for his daughter.He was least bothered about her. He was unaware of his daughters daily routine.He lived for himself.He used to give her the required pocket money.Life was not miserable for him.
"What do you want me to do?," Neil anxiously asked.
"I've got a chick man,call her man and enjoy,"Vijay said.
Vijay soon handed over the girls number to his friend.
After few hours Neil called the girl.
"Hey, is this Trish," Neil asked the person.
"Yes,do you want my service Sir," she said.
"Yes,come to this place," He gave him his friends address.
"Ohk sir,what about the rates?," she asked him.
"Whatever you say?,"he replied.
They were going to meet each other at 9 pm.
Neil was waiting for the girl at his friends place. He soon got fresh and ready for the girl.
The girl rang the door. Neil opened the door and a big shock awaited him.
"Dad,what the hell are you doing here?," she was embarassed.
Neil was shocked and could not believe that his daughter was a call girl.
He felt ashamed and could not sleep the same night.
The next day when the neighbours knocked his door, they could see Neil hanging on his ceiling fan. Neil was shocked and could not accept this fact. This eventually led to his death.
PS: This is a real life incident narrated by my friend
My first Love....
I still remember the good old days of friendship with her. She was once my girlfriend.I know she used to adore me a lot.My life was incomplete without her.Ever since I met her ,life was so special for me.It was a turning point of my life.I never realized that I would get to meet this sweetheart in this world filled with insane souls.I remember those days when we both would play hide and seek.She loves me a lot and it can be seen from the fact that she could easily find out my hideout.Life was miserable before meeting her.Slowly I thought that she was just made for me.I used to go behind her everytime she left.I just used to follow her in sidelines just to see that she is in safe company.I've always played this saviour role in her life.We met each other in an unwanted situation where I was thrown out of the restaurent for stealing the burgers.It was she who paid for the burgers.I felt like I was in some different world when she carressed me .I want to be with her forever.Recent days I've been observing that she isn't that kind to me.She used to get a phone call and she soon used to leave somewhere.What will I do?.The first time we met,she took me to her bedroom as they were no one in their house. She kissed me and even I did the same.I was so happy to see her gesture.But these days I could clearly see that something is missing.I can't see my love drifting away from me.
I guess she is back to home.
"Oh sweety !,where are you?," she came running towards me.
"Bwo bow!!," I ran towards her by wagging my tails.
Red is for danger
"You can't do it , you are a chicken"- Rahul.
"Ya that's why you can't play with us kiddo"- Ronit leered at him.
Few of the other boys sniggered with distaste.
Ramgopal's face grew red. He was a constant target of innate humour. Specially after Ramu's
new movie, he became a crackpot for jokes. Today he would end it all.
" I will do it"- Ramu's face tight with tension.
The boys looked at each other whispered something among themselves and nodded heads.
So all of them proceeded towards their destination. But, only one had to go beyond, cross the limit.
Ramu's forehead was all sweaty now as Ronit brought a chair for him.
" Don't worry you just take a peak and shout 'Jai Ho ' and duck quickly. "-Ronit explained"No one will see."
"I am more afraid about what I WILL see" Ramu murmured.
He carefully stood on the chair and edged his way upwards, what luck!
the girl's toilet looked barren. He would at last be one of them and play with their group.
He became so happy and confident he prolonged his Jai Ho and scanned the whole toilet.
What he saw just below him almost made him yelp with fright. It was his big sister watching all the time frowning. She had seen the whole episode and hadn't uttered a sound.
" Lets see what your mother says to this " - she spat and ran away.
Thinking of it makes me laugh to this day.
UNIMAGINED-4..!!!
I think many of you missed the Third part....check it out here..!!!
"Abhi. If my father was alive, why did i live the life of an orphan?" Kripa asked. Abhi looked to Kripa and took her to the bench and they sat together.
"Kripa, i am here you tell the reason to you."Abhi started.
"As i told you, Mr.Williams has seen many people dying because of leprosy, so he wanted someone to study about it and find a cure. He had no other option but both of us. So, he joined us in the orphanages that he believed would best take are of us. He wanted us to study medicine and research about the disease and here we are, the research students on Leprosy."Abhi smiled.
"But Abhi, we could have done this being with my father too...but why are we away??"Kripa asked.
"Dear, Mr.williams thought, if we were there with him, we would waste time taking care of him which the hospital nurses can do too. He didnt want us waste our time with him." "But how can taking care of father be a waste of time??"
"Kripa dear, dont think about it now. You are now going to meet Mr.Williams. I will take you to him.He must be waiting for us..na, waiting for you, his Angel..!!"
Kripa was very happy listening the last lines of Abhi..she is finallly going to meet him.
*******after a while*********
Kripa and Abhi reached the place where their father is resting with his treatment. Kripa had loads of thoughts in her mind, but her heart was dancing with joy.
"Kripa. this is our dad's room" Abhi stopped Kripa who was moving forward.
Her heart started beating faster. She is now going to see her dad, who she never thought to be existed. She entered the room seeing the man on bed. He was totally tied up with the bandages. there was blood stained almost all over. It was not a new sight to her, but when he saw her own dad, tears rolled down.
"Hello Kripa, welcome my angel. How are you???" Mr.Williams broke the silence.
"Yes Sir, i am fine. how are you feeling now??"Kripa spoke finally after a long silence.
"Sir??? Dear, I am your dad...!!"
"Dad...!!!"She broke into tears.
She never used that word before, and now, she knew it was tough to use it..!!!
There was a long conversation between Mr.Williams, Abhi and Kripa.
"Kripa and Abhi. please help the world from this disease. Its very hard living it."Mr.Williams said to Abhi and Kripa.
Those were his final words. Mr.Williams is no more. Kripa broke down and Abhi was shocked. It took them months to get to the normal state.
Kripa and Abhi are again left alone in this world. But this time, in the world of Leprosy patients. Kripa and Abhi worked very hard from there after trying to findout cure for the disease.
Turning The Corner...
He knew it. He finally knew it. Actually, he knew it since some time but was only now able to accept it. He was in love. Head over heels type. Always the one to scoff @ the "madly-in-love" breed of society, his heart had now throttled him straight into their domain. At a breakneck speed too, mind you! 38 days (yes, he had counted) back was when his heart had fluttered for the 1st time on seeing her. Well, actually he needed to thank Deep for his "she's damn beautiful" comment @ the lounge back then which fired up his senses to the extreme level (yes, a thank you card was in the offing for Deep).
And ever since that night @ the lounge he was a confused wreck. He started noticing her as he had never done before. Her small mannerisms became the staple of his consciousness. That twirling of a curl of her hair was something which now besotted him. Those freckles on her nose suddenly seemed so alluring. Her endless chatter seemed a lilting rhapsody to his ever willing ear drums. He now found her eyelashes beautiful, her pout started seeming sexy to him and her jaw bone became a piece of art. Her touch sent shivers down his spine; her laughter seemed a cacophony of jingling bells and wind chimes. That rolling of the eyes, those slight nudges to his shoulder, the waves of her hair, that curve of her lips, he noticed everything now. Yes, he was truly besotted by her...and madly in love.
He had to tell her. He could not and would not wait any longer. He wanted to share his feelings, wanted to make her his confidante in this exuberant joy of his, wanted to acknowledge his coming to senses and more than anything wanted desperately to hold her in his arms. He had wasted too much time shrouding his feelings behind the dogmas of realism and pragmatism. Best friends they had been for so long, it was time to effuse a new relationship. It was time to lift the veil, and lift it he would. It was time to pour out his feelings and desires, and pour out he would. There would finally be no more pretensions, only the truth.
It was 9 in the evening and knowing her routine as well as he did, he knew her to be @ her home. Hurriedly, he moved out of his house not wanting to waste even a single moment now. His happiness was just round the corner and he did not want to be in this lane of solitude any more. He wanted to encounter the bend and turn into the new lane of happiness.
Bouquet and champagne in hand, he rung her bell and waited for destiny to embrace him. He pictured her face turning a shocked expression as he knelt down before her, the shock turning to unbridled joy and happiness as he rolled out his pronouncement and finally the moment of bliss that he had awaited. He was shaken out of his reverie with the door opening only to flutter off into another trance @ her glance.
"My God Nik!!! I was just about to call you. How come you are here?", she rattled off in one breath. His reply died down in his throat when she shrieked unknowingly on viewing the bouquet and champagne..."Oh my, how did you know? Did Deep tell you beforehand? Damn it and here i was thinking of breaking the news to you myself." His enhancing confusion started to graduate to despair @ full throttle when Deep came into view behind her. "Hi Nik, budz u r ryt on time for the celebration...v just became a pair." An icy feeling gripped his senses, a nausea rose from the depths of his despair. Someone had just gone and yanked out feeling from within him as he became numb, uncomfortably numb. As she ushered him inside she repeated herself "But how did you know then?" He chanced a look towards her and their eyes met. In that instant he saw her, a picture of unbridled joy and happiness, basking in her moment of bliss which he had so wanted to be the forbearer of and he just shrugged "I just, knew!!!"
She had turned her corner but the path did not lead to him. His bend was not into another lane; rather he had just retraced his steps back to solitude. His path had been a full circle.
UNIMAGINED-3...!!!
Missed the first parts?? Read them here[1st] and here[2nd]...!!!
Kripa looked Abhi suddenly.
"You knew it already?? she asked...!!!
"Yes Kripa i knew it already. Mr.Williams is not a happy living man. He hasnt been out of bed from the time he left us."Abhi explained in tears."Mr.Williams is a patient of Leprosy".
Kripa couldnot believer her ears. She herself was a student of Medicine and she is studying various Leprosy patients. She was feeling very bad as she didnt knew about this before.
"I would like to meet him now. Please Abhi...take me to him"She begged him with tears.
"Kripa let me complete."Abhi continued."Mr.Williams suffered very much with the disease. With no family left, he wanted to marry someone who can take care of him. But then, he decided not to make a innocent women suffer all her life. So, he married a lady who was suffering from the same disease."
"How good hearted your dad is. In his life, he wanted to be his own light."Kripa spoke with a smile.
"Dear I tell you something very important. I am not his own son. I am an adopted child. My parents were the patients of Leprosy too. They died when i was five" Abhi started again.
"After Williams adopted me, he joined me an orphan home that took care of me. but i was taken home very home so that i wouldnot miss my parents."
Kripa listened as Abhi told her about her life.
"But after an year, you were born. Mr.Williams found all the happiness in the world to be with him from the very second."
Kripa suddenly got up from the bench she was sitting. She could not believe her years again.
"What? Is Mr. Williams my dad??"Kripa asked with joy.
"Yes, dear he is and you are my God given sister." Abhi replied.
Kripa was in joy. She know knew that she has her father alive. Till date she was an orphan living alone. She always wanted to see her parents but thought they were not in this world anymore. But today when Abhi told her that Mr.Williams is her Dad, she was the happiest alive on Earth.
When she got down from the clouds infinite, she turned to Abhi with a doubt.
"Abhi. If my father was alive, why did i live the life of an orphan?" She asked.
UNIMAGINED-2...!!!
Missed the first part??....read it here....!!!
"i am here to tell you the truth Kripa. I fear to know your reaction" Abhi turned the other side.
"Whats wrong Abhi? Is Mr. Williams fine."
"Yes. He is. But i want to tell you who actually you are"
"It doesnt matter to me now. I am here because of Mr.Williams and i just want to meet him once"
"Before you meet him, let me atleast tell you about him. He is my father and i saw him some years back when you were a little girl say an year old."
Kripa was dumb struck. How come Abhi miss to see his own father because of her?- was the question that was haunting her. She couldnt think of any answer to it and, she waited to hear it from Abhi.
"Kripa i dont blame you for it. Its our bad luck."
"What happened Abhi that your dad left you?? that too when i was born"
"Kripa it has got nothing to do with you. but yes, you were born at the wrong time..!!!"
"I am the most unlucky girl Abhi. I know how bad to live with out parents. My birth has taken away your dad too. Sorry Abhi", Kripa broke down to tears and fell on her knees.
The white rose fell off from her hand. This is the first time that Kripa left the flower that Pari gave her. Even in her work every day, Kripa put it in a beautiful vase and used to carry it with her back home again.
Abhi managed to help Kripa come down and let her to the park bench beside them. He picked the white rose and gave it to her again.
"I am really very sorry Abhi. I am responsible for your dad not being with you. I am sorry." "Stop being sorry dear. I hate that word. Let me tell you, you are not responsible for it. we knew that we were gong to face it one day."
Kripa looked Abhi suddenly.
"you knew it??" she asked......!!!
UNIMAGINED-1...!!!
"Good Morning Didi", the little girl wished Kripa.
"Good morning Pari", Kripa wished kissing the little girl on her forehead.
" Didi today this white rose will make your day."
" thank you sweet heart."
" bye didi."
"bye Pari"
Kripa stepped ahead in her way after paying the little girl her. Kripa buys a flower from Pari every day. She wanted to help the little girl get medicine for her unhealthy Dad. Pari loves Kripa so much that she waits for her at the same place every day and gave her the first flower.
Kripa walked to the bus stop and was waiting for the bus. she noticed that an old woman was starring at her. she then started smiling. How can the old woman stop herself from seeing Kripa.She was a young girl in her early twenties with black eyes and think black hair. The fair girl was wearing a white dress today which made her look like an angel on Earth.
Suddenly the bus arrived and Kripa boarded it. She was waiting for the destination place to come soon. She awaited for that time since her childhood and now, when she is just some minutes away, she couldnot wait anymore.
When she was lost in her thoughts, the bus stopped. she couldnot believe it. She has already reached the place. just a few more mintues and she is gonna see the special man for whom she was waiting for since long time.
She walked to that place where she was supposed to meet the man. To her surprise there was already a man sitting there reading a newspaper. She dint know if he was the man she was waiting for. Doubtfull she went to him.
"Hello sir. Are you Mr.Williams?? My guardian??"
"Hello Kripa. It was nice meeting you" the man stood up with a smile.
"Mr.Williams..Glad to meet you. i was waiting for you since i was 10."
"Kripa. I am not Mr.Williams. I am Abhi. His son."
"oh..Hello Abhi. Where is Mr.Williams? I wish to see him once."
"i am here to tell you the truth Kripa.I fear to know your reaction"
Are you a Painter ?
Part -1 A Date?
Part -2 A Sketch
"I am sorry, I am not used to wake up so early, so i guess i just dozed off." He said as soon as he saw me staring at him.
"Its fine. I came some time back and I even got a chance to sketch you in a comfortable pose." I replied opening the door of the studio.
"You even sketch?"
"Any painter will knwo to sketch roughly i guess"
"Are you a painter?"
"What do you think?"
"You said you own a studio, so i though you are a photographer !"
I looked at him with amusement as he looked around the studios nervously.
"Well, I think there was a misunderstanding. I need a model to paint and not to shoot him.Will you still stay?"
"Depends" he said, walking to the table where my sketch book was kept upside down.
"Depends on how good you sketch" and he picked up my sketch book.
The Unexplainaible.
A man started penning down his diary entry as usual.
"Dear diary,
This would be my last entry.
Then he started writing.
"Lift the lid. It would be underneath my plate..yes, that one. The brown one." His cracked voice seemed to consume all the breath he had collected in the past 2 struggling hours. Shivering hands, and an impregnable desire in his blind eyes, led me to do what he requested. I picked it up and blew off the dust from the hardbound cover. There it was embedded in bold magenta, the words, "Diary 1958".
The sounds of the vintage cars, the wailing of the kids in the market, the beer cans on the streets and the trucks thumping up and down the lanes... Germany was full of life on a sunny October afternoon. Inside the room, he lay there on the bed. His hair and the sunlight were like true lovers. They could not be seperated. There was this peculiar yet familiar zing around his character. He possessed a very prominent spark in him. The one which you get when you feel that you are the happiest..when you are on top of this materialistic world. When you achieve something as rare as true peace. It was this spark that drove me to him everyday at 2pm. Regularly, now...for the past 12 years.
I looked at the rusted clock behind me. "I can see now" - was a random feeling that arose in me. Its been 9 years since that smoke made me blind, and I underwent an eye transplant. But this random feeling arises in me very often now. Flipping through the pages with sheer disinterest, I glanced at him. He was smiling. I wished that I could ask him, "Do you even realise that I have also other patients to attend? Can you be quick please?" But I couldnt because i just couldnt be rude to him. So I asked,"Abel, which part do you really want me to read out to you?" He replied in his broken, husky, and now typical Abel Goldstein voice, "I wish you could read all of it out to me, but now as you can't, read after March 1979. And be loud."
He said that like a weak command. But I began. With the doubt-"why is he making me read aloud his own diary?" I could not decipher the logic. Ignoring the desire to decipher, I started reading. There were mentions of his new job, the new apartment he bought, his first self paid trip to Frankfurt, his first love..every random incident of his life was inked in blue on those dry parchment pages. As I reached September 1979, I started feeling awkward. Terribly awkward. I felt immobilized.
I read:
"
September 18th, 1979.
Today you gave birth to my boy. I am so happy! I want to fly! I cannot control my emotions when I touch his pulpy head, get absorbed in his engrossing stare! I thank you, Samantha, for being my wife. I love you like anything..Today you gave me the most precious gift of my life. I wont forget bed No. 312 on which you lie right now. I promise I would die on it. I am so happy for both of us. I know you love me a lot. I so wish your father accepts us. I know thats not a possibility, as I am a doctor, and he doesnt want a doctor as your husband. I know you must be having thoughts troubling you in your mind about deciding not to drop the child and bring him him to life without marrying me. But I promise we would marry. One day, for sure. Thank you sweetheart. I love you."
October 21st, 1979
This would be my last entry. Samantha, you promised you wont leave me...I never imagined this would happen. Your father didnt kill YOU, he killed both of us. I have no strength left to write anything more. I would just like to say one thing. I named him Ron. Ron Baker. I donated him to an orphanage 20 days back. I dont know why I did that. Maybe because I had to marry someone else. But I promise I would be around him always. You would always remain my wife, and he..my son. I love you both."
I read this sentence and he asked for his diary. He kept it upside down on himself and placed both his hands on it. I froze on the chair I was sitting on, and kept staring at him...lying there unmoved.
Next morning, HE died of unknown reasons. And I witnessed his death with my eyes....rather his eyes.
Dr. Ron Baker
October 21st, 2008."
Promises - Important aren't they?
Promises - Important aren't they?
It was late saturday's night while I was talking to him.The locked room was dark my ears having handfree, I was enjoying his talks when surddenly my mobile scree lit up it light. Without making him notice and continuing tolking I checked the noctice saying
1 Message recieved
I wondered who could message me this late but interuption of his voice made me failed guessing. I clicked the right button of my cell phone and read the message saying;
"Muwah! .. on ur lips i want to tok to u too bt
u knw na darling i am too busy in a asignment ryt nw"
'Sam!' I called his name feeling the difference in my tone.
'Yes darling! what?' He could, I know even he could feel the warning protest, the anger, the shakness of my voice.
'I got a message from your side' I repeated the message avoiding the kiss written first. And then I went quite waiting for his answer although I knew at first he will be avoiding the truth, he will be lying.
'Hainn! what's this? Are you serious! Comm'on I was talking to you , how I could've messaged this.
Oh! probably i have messaged it before, it must have delievered late.'His explantionary tone turned me worst doubt into a bitter fact.
'Who is she' I inquired of him without making an effort to either prolong this" why what" discussion or making it finished.
'WHO SHE? Jano! its just you!' The buttering way.. his typical way of talking to me when I am in anger, for calming me down but this time he was failed. I was not in a mood of listening "i love you & blah blah" at the moment I just wanted the truth..
'WHO IS THE ONE YOU WERE TEXTING TO.. No lies please' This time my voice was raised I knew.
'God! Zini aren't you understanding there is no one .. Its you and me. Just you & me. No one , nobody else is there' He said in his typical agressive tone which always made me underpressure but this time I wasn't in mood of getting feared.
'SAM! for the last time I am asking who the hell you were texting to and this time you are not going to lie to me and if you're not feeling like answering then feel free to drop the call' I yelled in returned without taking notice of how loud my voice is getting.I was shaking with anger.
'Zini! watch your atittude while talking to me. Try not to show me this atittude again BYE!' & the call was ended.
Fine! I don't care. As if i really don't. I throwed my cell-phone on bed and with tears fallen from my eyes i started scribbling;
WAS ME NOT ENOUGH FOR YOU!
You want new experiment,
I know!
You want some refeshment,
Although the requirment of love,
Ah ! its just the same,
She must been a different girl,
She must been heart-taking,
She must been a beauty,
But then,
Who was I for you?
If I wasn't love,
And she was the one,
Then how sure you are,
You want not me now,
Thing got between us,
Oh! tell me how?
Answer me and here I leave,
Was me not enough for you?
Why are you quite,
Correct me if i am mistaken,
Or is it because I hav'nt left yet,
So here I go with a question,
Leaving for you,
WAS ME NOT ENOUGH FOR YOU?
I don't know when I fallen asleep but before entering into town of my dreams I remember my watering puffy eyes, wetting my doll shaped pillow.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Next morning nah! I guess it was afternoon, I woke up left my bed streching my-self. I remembered the darkest nightmare of mine (hoping it was just a dream). I picked my cell-phone up. I got 10 messages, from top I started reading;
  • ' tok to me u.. bloody witch'
  • ' u thnk i am barkng.. lik a dog? zini ans me wat to do'
  • ' I knw u r wakng.. feelng good in makng me miserable no?'
  • ' i miss her but i dun wanna lev u too temme wat to do? u gimm good guidence plz'
  • ' i feel her in u dats y i said i luv u ... u r awesum lady bt it her i want'
  • ' she is here ... acc. to her promise .. nw i ve to fullfill mine. kia karun?'
  • ' i am bad na? kia karon? she loves me.. i promised her whenever she will return no mater i am doin what with whom i will accept her i will get bak to her'
  • ' she is back .. last night i was texting her .. she wanted to come back and i let her do so'
  • ' Zini! my love is back .. i was tokng to her last nyt u wre ryt the text wasnt for u'
  • 'I wanted to tell u that Aina is bak she texted me three days bck i wantd 2 tell u bt ws afraid
  • f ur reaction we can still b goood frnd bt..'
    Reading those I felt nothing for him .. not even hatered for him. My heart , my mind they both were very silent.. I dialed his number but then thinking something i pushed the 'end-call' button. Then I disaled a digit editing his number and sent him a awaz message (voice message), after leaving a message i dropped my cell phone on couch and left for breakfast.
    After 30 minutes I came back to my room to collect things and for the sake of changing my dress. Leaving my room making it locked, I hear a buzz from my mobile and noticed 3 missed calls and 2-messages all from him. I dialed his number feeling still nothing for him.
    'Hello!' His heart-taking voice greeted me.
    'You called for what?' I asked, what i wanted avoiding formalities.
    'Hey hey wait! ... for what in hurrry? First tell me how my princesses is?' Ah ! I felt like killing him (bastard... rascal.. abusing him as this was all I wanted but this certainly wasnt the need of the hour )
    'I am perfectly fine... now quickly please tell me why and for what you called me' I know I was being rash but this was least I can do with him.
    'Nothing I just called to check.. Bye! ' He dropped the call.
    I throwed my cell phone and cried .. as loudly as I could ..How could he.. how he do like that to me. My relation with him made no difference to him just because his ex came back. I cried.. throwed things from their places, all my room was soon a mess when my cell-phone buzzed again. He texted me;
    'Zini! baby i m sorry seriously please can u forgv me i knw its bad f me askng fr mercy makng u feekng bd, makng u dejected bt can u forgve me.. reply m um waiting . i dropped d call bcoz it was painful listening u being in such pain ol bcoz f me bt m terribly sorry'
    I felt like slapping him but when I started replying my heart and my fingers against my will typed;
    'U r forgvn by me bt plz do m jst 1 favor ryt aftr dis msg dont .. never evr contct me bak plz! wether u b wid her or ny1 plz lev me alone on my own i can live'
    I cleared my face with a tissue paper as I recieved the delievery report i switched-off my cell phone and I went to wash my face with splash of water and sat to write with and aim in heart of not crying .. not any more.. not for him atleast! but as i wrote what my whims made me feel, IO realized tears rolling on my face leaving their places in my eyes . I finished writting and started reading it in low tone trying to rhym each word ;
    Chalo Bhool He Jatay Hain !
    Chalo bhool he jatay hain,
    tumhari bataon ko,
    Un be-maqsad yadon ko,
    Beetay lamhain hain saray,
    Bas bhool bholaiyan jaise hain,
    Rastay bhi gumnaam hon jinke,
    Aur manzil bhi be-nishaan si ho,
    Chalo bhool he jatay hain,
    Band kar lain ge hum rastay saray,
    Ab ki baar na roain ge,
    Or'rh ke kambal sard ruton main,
    Bati (light) bujha kar tan ke lambi,
    Is bar bohat sa soain ge,
    Ik takiya he bheegay ga na!
    Chalo Bhool He Jatay Hain..
    The day dream-II
    ( read the first part here the day dream-I )
    vijay and tanmay ready to face challange.
    tanmay going on his bowling mark.he is the fastest bowler in their school and vijay is still not get chance to play in the school cricket team.
    target for vijay is 20 runs in 1 over as they are playing at a small ground or i say they are playing gully cricket.
    vijay is ready to face the first ball from tanmay.
    tanmay bowls the first ball and vijay doesnot able to see the ball.
    tanmay:-if u say i can also bowl slow for u...hahahahahaha.
    vijay:-no... ball as fast as u can.
    second ball is furious bouncer and get passed very close to his eyes.
    third ball vijay decided to hit anywhere and he hit and up she goes for six runs.
    vijay couldn't believes he hit a six on tanmay's bowl.
    The day dream
    vijay is sleeping in the bed .....in the day time...with a blanket on ...because its winter season.
    he is in his dreams and a smile came to his face ...it seems he is in a very good dream.
    suddenly a voice breaks his sleep.
    tanmay:- vijay...vijayyyyy....wake vijayyyyyyyyyyyy......
    vijay:- hmmm....who is disturbing me....ohhhh...tanmay ...when u come.
    tanmay:-15 minutes ago...and from last 14 minutes iam trying to awake u,why are u sleeping in day.u are very dormant person.
    vijay:-iam not a dormant person...and u never know that in winter season sleep of day is more relaxing then the sleep of night.
    tanmay:-hmmm....what u saw in day dream?it seems u saw a good dream as u looking very happy.
    vijay:-ya tanmay i saw a very nice day dream....u and me both going to a restaurant and eat the food we want and in the end........
    tanmay:-what what in the end....?????
    vijay:- u awake me when waiter brings the bill.
    tanmay:-so nothing to worry man ..in the end u pay the bill and we came up happy from the restaurant and then we eat icecream...
    vijay:-i pay the bill....are u crazy why i should gave the bill.
    tanmay:-lets go we had to go to the Ravi's house for playing cricket and this day dreams will never become the reality....if u talk about a dream that u saw in morning then i can think about it.
    vijay:-lets go.
    viajy,tanmay at ravis home.
    ravi:-so again u late ...both of u are very lazy .
    tanamy:-its not my fault its his fault ask him.
    vijay:-lets start the game (he is still thinking about the day dream)
    game starts and after tanmay bats he says:-now its impossible to beat me..no one from both of you can chase this runs.
    vijay:-is the challange u are giving to us.
    ravi:-if it is a challange then ......vijay will be ready to face the challange.
    vijay:-why me?i never said iam ready...hey ravi dont say u kow iam not a good batsman as u ,u face the challange.
    tanmay:-so now its challange to u vijay...if i win u will gave both of us a treat.
    vijay:- and if i win ...i want to turn my day dream into reality..
    ravi:-day dream whats this..u both doesnot told me about this.
    tanmay:-ravi go and field will tell u after the match.
    now its really difficult for vijay to win this game because tanmay is very fast bowler and its really hard to hit him.
    (hey friends that is my first story iam writing ...we always heard that "morning dreams can turn into reality" but can day dreams turns the same.my story is about a boy vijay...who always sleep in day and specially winter season..he is a guy who has lot of dreams to fulfill in his life.currently he is in 10th class ...now see future episodes of the twists and turns in the life of this day dreamer.
    hope that u all like this....if i did any mistake tell me.
    and sorry for the grammar mistakes..iam not good at it.
    waiting for reply.
    Of rains....
    This is inspied by 6s : What can YOU say in six sentences?
    "Water that is condensed from the aqueous vapor in the atmosphere and falls to earth in drops more than 1/50 in. (0.5 mm) in diameter",That's how Rain is described in science books.
    But then there it doesnt cleans the plants or quench the thirst of dry mud or chase all beings to search a shelter or inspire anyonet to think differently.Science has no explaination for the beauty of peacock,the rhymes of frog,the music of raindrops on rooftops,the nostalgic moments in rain,the joy of being together in rain,the pains of being far way from loved one.
    It was raining when we parted,when for the last time i saw your blurred image one last time,touched your wet eyes,kissed your moist lips and had my fill of the love in your eyes.
    Wish it was not raining that day,so you could still be alive and not be another victim of a hit and run accident by a careless driver.. The rains never stopped in my heart ever since...
    Now, I Move Up
    I came back to consciousness when I felt the soft brushes of the escalator touching me over my jeans. I was standing on the stairs and they were ascending. The earth always moves; but I never sensed it before. How dumb I was! I kept on howling and repenting on my times of yore, when I was stagnant and everything else kept moving – in its own pace. Nothing stopped for me; none stopped for me. I wailed, when I found myself abandoned in life. I saw my people moving ahead and felt left out. I cried. I saw my life stuck in debris of faults, mistakes and losses. I stopped dreaming and I stopped craving for realizing them too. I had no aim in life. I lost all hopes.
    This is when I met him – the man of my thoughts. He changed my life completely. He took me by my hands and led me into the world that constantly rotates and revolves. I no more expect people to stop for me and say a few words of praise. Now, I do whatever it takes to materialize my dreams and acquire everyone’s eulogy. How I wish to have met him earlier! He lifted me from the ashes as this escalator is lifting me to the next level. Today is the day I have been waiting for. Today is the day of triumph. I just need to reach the apex and step into a life where the escalators move up – only upwards!
    I love Escalators
    Inspired from the stories i read here ..
    Most of the times when I cross the nearby mall, I take the escalator to the first floor and then come down to the ground floor by the escalator on the other end. Strange right?? Not for me !!
    I remember being so much afraid of the escalators even till the age of 25, Then one day, he held my hands and walked towards the escalator. I was so much nervous. Why was he doing this to me when he knew of my fear !! He stopped correctly in front of the escalator and leaving me there, stepped upon it and shouted ‘Will you marry me Sneha?’ As he spread his arms for me, I stepped on the escalator and ran into his arms.
    Its 10 years since that incident.We are married now and my love for escalator is on a rise still !!
    A Promise Kept
    Hey There People!!
    :)
    The story Below is my Entry to the Ascension Short Story Contest taking place at Clarity of Night.
    Would Love to have your Feedback on it
    :)
    A Promise Kept
      I rushed to the ICU ward of the Hospital as fast as my legs could carry me. It was almost daybreak. Twenty minutes ago, I had received the doctor’s call, confirming that the time had now come. That which I had been dreading; that which I had hoped would never happen; had now come to pass.
    Like the dog afraid of his own shadow, I ran towards her.
        The ward came to view. Like a pale ghost, I slowed down to a standstill. The door was ajar. She was looking right at me.
        She seemed to be looking right through me, as though she knew of every thought and emotion tormenting my mind. She had that smile on her face; that carefree smile that even months of chemotherapy had failed to wipe out. Her smile seemed to be telling me something.
    But I just couldn’t place it.
         The doctor came out just then. With an apologetic voice, he said “I’m so sorry, son. She succumbed just a few minutes ago. A brave fighter. God rest her soul.”
    He walked away.
    Terror tore at me and my insides seemed to shrivel up.
    “That means . . . . . her eyes . . . . . Oh God!”
    She knew I’d come. She kept waiting for me till the very end. Tears leaked out of my eyes. But I held strong. I kept her promise.  I never cried.
    And I realized that she knew it.
     Her smile told me that.
    P.S. :As of now, it hasn't been published in Clarity of Night yet, But i've been told that it will be The Entry No. 86
    Missing her ...
    “No, I’m leaving now.”
    “Please stay. We have only ten more minutes and after that we can…”
    She did not let me finish my words and stood up. She took her books, held them close to her chest and looked straight into Dr. K. P. Ranade’s eyes. He looked back.
    “Sorry Sir, I need to go now. I’m getting late.”
    Before he could utter a word, Gayatri was out of the class. He went (almost) running behind her as if to call her and raised his hand in anticipation. He was about to shout when he stopped. He came back with a dropped head and came close to the green board. He threw the chalk stick out of the window which got lost in the dark in a flash, and smiled; as if he was thinking of his olden golden days. He looked at me. I moved my eyes away from him.
    “Class is adjourned for the day,” he said as he picked up the duster to clean his hand and the board.
    Everybody looked at each other. This never happened in last two years here. We were used to Dr. Ranade’s four hours of class, two days a week and every week for the last two years. We were in dilemma, whether to move out or it was one more prank from this old prankster.
    “Do I send you a card now? Get lost,” he shouted in the peak of his voice and the whole building shook. I felt my desk moving and we jumped from our chairs and went straight out of the class, into the lawn and out of the gate of the institute.
    It is half past nine now and one and half hours for the schedule closure of classes. The watchmen looked at us in surprise. Does everybody know Dr. Ranade and his way of teaching? I doubt! I was amongst the first few who leaped out of the classroom. I got a glance of the old man’s eyes while leaving as if he was asking me to stay back and talk to him and help him out of his misery; but I was on my own hurry – and I rushed out to see if I can find Gayatri somewhere. I came out, crossed the road and asked Rajan, the shopkeeper to give me a light. I took one out of the cigarette box and lit it outside the dark shop. There was hardly any customer apart from us, the students of Prabhabati School of Business and Entrepreneurship. It was so dark that I could only see the main gate of our campus with the golden logo on it and the last part of the name of the college in silver.
    “Did you see Gayatri around here? She came out a few minutes ago.” I held the cigarette between two fingers and asked Rajan, who went clueless. I knew he would not tell anything without any tip; but I did not have any to offer him. I went past the shop and crossed the road again and came closer to the gate. One of those ogling watchmen came running as if I was detonating a bomb there.
    “I’m not coming in with the cigarette. Stop.” I held my palm up and told him. He stopped but strolled towards me.
    “Did you see Gayatri, I mean, a girl in jeans and white jacket coming out of the class before us? She left just before us and came out. Did you see anything?”
    “No.” He said and looked at me in anticipation. I took one more drag and left him stranded. A few of us went in their own vehicles and rest of us was waiting for the institute bus, to leave at eleven ten. I sat near the shop for a long time looking here and there, sometimes restlessly but could not locate Gayatri. She did not come till we left. The bus moved fast and I reached home in almost no time.
    Gayatri did not turn up for the rest of the week. For some reason, Dr. Ranade skipped his next class too. Well, they say everything happens for the first time someday. We did not care much. I came back from school on Friday night and slept. I was tired.
    “Sukanya, get up girl. It’s almost noon now. Your mother is waiting for you to go out.”
    “Yes Bua, five minutes,” and I pulled the blanket and tried to steal those last moments of the morning sleep.
    “There is news about your evening college. Some girl called Gayatri Ranade is missing for some days now and her father has advertised a callback. Check it when you wake up completely.”
    Bua (My father’s sister) left leaving the paper on my bed side. The last few words rang in my head – Gayatri – missing – callback! I threw the bedspread and jumped on the paper, where I found the following note:
    I could not read the number in full. My eyes were full of tears and Gayatri’s face appeared in front of me.
