Tacky Imprints !!

Sob Sob.
"Why Aniket? Why?", teacher asked furiously.
"Why did you hit Rahul?", but came no reply.
She dismissed both of them from the class for that hour.

( Next day )
Sob Sob.
"Mam, he again bullied me.", Rahul said crying.
"Aniket", teacher shouted at top of her voice.
"I warned you yesterday not to repeat this again na?", and she tried threatening him not to do that again.
They both were again dismissed for the hour.

( Next Day )
"Aniket!!!!", even today Rahul complained being beaten by him.
"Why do you have to hit Rahul everyday? How many times do I have to tell you not to do that? This is too much now."
The teacher was in a fix now what to do. It was becoming a daily nuisance for her now. Everyday she warned them both but one could clearly see that it had no impact.
She was unable to make out the reason for such beatings between both of them. As they literally had no issue of rift between them for such violence to take place daily.
Transfixed, she ordered Aniket,"Alright, ask your Father to meet me tomorrow during school hours positively".
She had thought that this might be enough to surface some fear on his face but the person who did get scared off was Rahul and not Aniket.
Today even he stood there, cool and calm, listening to the scoldings of the teacher .
( Next Day )
( In the Staff Room )
"Good Afternoon Madam.", said a husky voice.
The teacher looked up from the copies she was correcting to see Aniket's Father standing along with him.
"Yea, Sir. Please have a seat. The reason I called you for is, your son has a daily activity which is really annoying".
"Everyday in the recess time, he has to slap Rahul. Sir, I want you to ask your son the reason for such violent act as I have already tried my best to discover the reason but have always failed."
"I can't let this happen anymore because his parents are complaining to me every then and now to take serious actions against your son, so if please you could make him understand that whatever he is doing is just not done.", teacher completed the whole drama story in one go.
"Why did you slap Rahul?", now the interrogator was his Father, so keeping quiet seemed to be a bad idea.
He tried answering but words just won't come out.
"Answer me, why did you hit Rahul ?", this time a more threatening voice was heard in the staff room.
For a moment even the teacher got scared, but then came the reply.
"I love to see the imprints of all my fingers on his face after slapping him", came the innocent reply.

The Wait..

"Hmm, I know. Even lately Rajesh has been rude to me", said the guy wearing pink shirt.
The one sitting next to him agreed on his point.
It was 11 in the morning and these two guys were returning from their night shifts and before going back to their respective dwellings, they had made the choice of enjoying a cup of coffee along with some hot corporate conspiracies and office gup-shups . So could be well seen from their unman-aged formal clothes and their unkept hair.

"And did you look at that bitch Neha!", said the blue shirt guy.
"Man, yeah. What kind of a girl she is! Totally a shame on the female community!", said the pink shirt guy.
And they both laughed.
"Sshhh..This guy sitting next to you is listening to all what we are talking about", he said and blue shirt guy turned to look who was sitting next to him.
The scene was, in a mall, near the cafeteria, on one bench of three, were sitting these three guys. Pink shirt guy on one end, with blue shirt guy sitting in the middle and this young guy on the other end.
Now this guy seemed to be much younger than these two guys. He was in his cool T-shirt and jeans but was sitting there a bit dull. Hence he might have turned towards these two people just to listen to their talks for a  futile time-pass.
But those two guys were a bit surprised as to why would a guy like him sit at such an early hour and listen to their talks while he could go out and enjoy. It seemed as if he had nothing else much interesting to do but to sit and hear those two people out!

"Oh, come-on! Let it be na! He doesn't know either of us and also he has no idea as to about all whom we are talking ", and they both laughed.
This young guy was still listening to them.
His one hand was in his lap and the other was giving a support to his head while his eyes and ears were busy listening to those guys! It seemed as if that small baby was instructed by his mother to sit there and listen to those people and there he was,obeying his mother like an obedient child!

This continued for some 15-20 minutes and then she came.
"Okay, Shall we proceed?", said the girl approaching this guy.
"Oh, yeah. Let's go",he said lifting himself, happily, from the bench.
And they both left! And he seemed happy the moment she came.
As The wait, was finally over!

Silence

She was busy working in the kitchen.Preparing lunch and breakfast.
It was almost eight o’clock and Neha had to leave at 8:30.
She was having an exam today hence was not giving her mother a helping hand in the daily morning chores.
Neha was busy mumbling the formulas and concepts in her room when she heard her mother’s voice.
Come downstairs and pack your lunch“,her mother shouted.
"Coming “,Neha replied back.
In a minute Neha was standing besides her mother.Cutting apple into slices for the breakfast,still mumbling the formulas and concepts.

Okay, now here’s milk and bread.Make yourself a cup of coffee and a pair of bread-butter.Then you can go.”  She had an exam in an hour! In an hour! And it ain’t was some school level exam! An engineering level exam.But Neha have always been a good daughter,an obeying all the order girl .

She took it as a pleasure to assist her mother in household work which is usually not the case for any of today’s age girl.She took this work too with a pleasure even though she had an exam.

Okay.I am done.I am leaving“,Neha said,picking up the cup and the plate of bread-butter.She had made herself a cup of coffee along with a pair of bread-butter,with butter applied on simple plain bread.
Why are you eating plain bread?Why didn’t you make a toast?“,her mother inquired.According to her mother, bread eaten in raw form was not a very healthy idea.Hence she always used to insist on eating a toasted bread or an oven-ed bread.

Neha answered,in a low voice as she knew the reason was enough to make a spark for a fight between her and her mother early morning.

“I have to study.I will eat plain bread only today”,she made it simple,not to include any repulsive words to attract any argument.

“Why don’t you say that you like plain bread that’s why you are having it”.

“No mother.It’s not that.I hate plain bread.I love toasted bread.I love it especially with butter.But I love it because you always make me that.And today I am not having it because you didn’t make it for me.”,she wanted to say.But she kept quiet.
Quiet because her mother had a rough start in the morning with her father on some issue and she just didn’t want to annoy her mother anymore herself.Hence she decided to leave in Silence !

Logout (on the other side)

It was another wrathful weekend and I was stuck to my bedside holding unto the computer keyboard for almost 12 hours. There is nothing to do – not anymore. It has been a long time since he left and it has been long enough that his absence has become a habit. I was not bothered much; why would I? Nobody is bothered about me; why would I be bothered about anyone else? I work now; not like olden days when he used to earn and I used to cook for him. How damn fool I was – how I wasted my life with that nincompoop! I look back and want to slap myself. Anyways, that is past now. I am what my present tells me to be.

We married with lots of hope in our eyes – away from the families on our own all the way. We were kids that time, but we walked together. Life was a challenge and we were forced to experience loss every other moment. Still, we had love to bind us together, I guess! But with time, it withered too. The plant of our dreams wilted in front of our own very eyes. Sometimes, he did not water it sometimes, I faltered – and it wilted. Then one day, when we both ‘grew up’ and we become ‘practical’ and ‘down to earth’, we ‘understood’ that our ways would not meet again soon! It was like a railway track crossing – we were happy as the two tracks were coming close to each other and as they crossed, the distance kept on increasing forever; never to meet again. After years of being married, we realized we should not have come close at the first place. How ridiculous! And if it was so, why did I not think about it all these years? Probably, the best days of my life, that were now lost!

Anyways, we parted. And it was only for good. He never looked back – he is a man of his words, I know! He would not look back. If he would not, why should I? Why should I keep on waiting for him? He would come online but never say a ‘Hi’; but still I spend every futile weekend of mine on chat messengers – just to see if he is online. I used to ping him at times, but he never replies. So, I login invisible to him. He knows I will be online this time – but he would not ever ping me back.

WTF! What am I thinking about? Its late into the weekend night and I must be drinking more than usual that I’m getting all these worthless thoughts in my head. This life is good – no one to ask questions – none bothered for you and the best of it all, no one for whom you should be bothered! I could not go back to my family – nor could I commit something foolish. I went ahead and caught that highly paid and easily available job for me. It is a pleasure at work and I am the boss of my own coins.

I clicked on Logout and realized the world has turned a deaf ear to me. I am no longer living to anyone, anywhere. I logged in long ago and was seeing him online on messenger all the time. I had to logout and I did. He was always online, but he never said, “Hi.” Oh, damn him! Damn me! Damn these worthless thoughts of mine!

The Drag

In response to Arv's post: The Winter Sun

His hands trembled along with the line. He did not want to shift his sight from those twinkling pair of eyes. He stared as she bit her lips keeping that smile on. He wanted to hold her – a sudden drag – the harbor seal had the better of him – next moment, he was gasping for air!

In case you mates just argue on the size of a harbor seal!! :P :P

The Last Visit

He turned imaginatively and found none! Where was she? He pinched himself and found he was awake. Was this a dream?

She came down from heaven, just to make his evening special – after all, she promised to be with him on their 25th anniversary – and she had come!

The train whistled – the journey was on.

Confrontation (Contd.)

Continued from Pratibha's Post Confrontation

"I wrote it when we met first. I did not know if it was love or if it was my infatuation; but you were my best friend, so I thought to share it with you, but could not” he said.
“I know that, Harry. I always knew that!” Kajal added, “but, I don’t love you .”

After the call

Reply to Kajal's post

Why did I call him?
I could have lived with the cherished fact that he loved me the way I did, without letting him know that!
May be I have ruined whatever relation we had..may be I just hurt myself..may be I just hurt a loving heart..??

After the call

Continued from Kajal's post Some Unanswered Questions

Why the hell did she call? All his efforts in keeping away from the matter failed! She wanted the letter; she has it. What else she wants? Is this not enough for her? They are sure there is no love. Why did it turn up this way when there is nothing in that – not anymore.

The Decision

In response to Rashi's post Is this it?

She wanted to call him and ask about the letter. There was so much in her to be answered. Who else, other than him would? They have started to see each other like siblings, but then is this the real feeling in them? Well, she has to get answers. She picked up the phone herself.

A Call Not Made

Continuation from Rashi's post What more? Pratibha's post then she walked away... and Kajal's post Emotions Misunderstood or ........ ?

~~~
He knew it was not love, but an infatuation which he was sure to conceal throughout and he did that successfully. He picked up the phone and kept it down every time. He meant not to hurt her. He meant not to say things that would erase the comfort between them. He did not call.
Another Sleepless Scribble (Night 2)
Continued from Another Sleepless Scribble
4:03 AM
It was another night. Just another one for everyone else; for nobody thought about it before they closed their eyelids for the day – before they surrendered to the dark, still, insensible night. However, the night was not the same for Shona. Shona, never sleeps. She lives in her own world and forgets about all that happens around her. She was sleepless again – again tonight!
Having nothing else to do, having nowhere else to go, having no one to speak to, she came out of her house and strolled in to the lounge – The Writers Lounge. She came in and saw the door closed. Was there anyone there? Well, she did not know. She hardly knows anyone in the lounge, apart from her love – her friend – her mate – her companion. She thought he might be there, somewhere in the lounge, still! This was the best time for him to be in the lounge, and hence, she strolled in – not to disturb him or anyone else in the lounge, but to get a mere glimpse of him. A word or two exchanged would be bonus for her. She crept in.
It was chilling in the lounge. Not a single leaf moved – not one breeze blew. The lounge seemed to be frozen. The lounge seemed to be lonely too – very much similar to Shona. She opened the door with utmost care. It opened slowly and a few rays of light and a few handful of air came in along with Shona. She closed the door behind her. It was pitch-dark. She stood there for some time and checked around her – nobody around – absolute silence. She walked towards the dashboard to check the various posts in the lounge, which were posted today. Her hands were trembling as she browsed through the posts. Her lips moved while reading a few. Her fingers got stuck to a few words and her eyes to a few pictures, but she moved on with the newer posts.
Suddenly she saw a post with her lover’s name on it. Did he post it? Her heart skipped a bit! Yes, it was him who posted this today. Oh! What a feeling! She felt him around while reading his post. It was a story – a simple story of a small village girl. She read the first words of the story, “I Love You Shona…” What? Shona? Was this ‘Shona’ the same as herself? Her heart skipped another beat! He has told her time and again not to talk about themselves in public. He has told her time and again not to relate his stories or poems with herself; but her heart – would it listen? It searches for her in every Cinquain he writes; it hunts for her name in every Acrostic he writes; it looks for her presence in every Haiku he posts. She never found a single post of his which was not related to her. However, he never wrote anything like this before. He never wrote about her anywhere. She was always incognito until this post! She could not believe her eyes. For a moment she wanted to hear his voice and talk to him. Oh! If only she could see him once – for once!
There was a message in the Shoutbox that made the noise to break her concentration. “Hi mates, how are you all doing? None here? Let me talk to myself then J” It was him! Oh! Was he here all the time? She would never know; but, he is here now – right in front. A simple message in the Shoutbox would link her to him. He will come to know that Shona is here too. What a coincidence! Her wish to meet him and to talk to him was fulfilled in couple of minutes time. Oh God, had known this before, would not she have ask him instead?
Shona stood there – unmoved. She did not utter a word. She did not go to the next page. She did not do anything that would tell him of her presence. She would not – for she was not supposed to. She was not supposed to bring him in public. She was not supposed to get close in public. He will not like that and may turn crueler towards her. She would not want that too. She remained invisible. She remained unearthed. She remained silent.
“Good Night Mates… Have a good time reading and a wonderful day. Have fun and keep rocking together.” Another message in the Shoutbox. It was him again. He was leaving. She wanted to call him. She wanted to pull him towards her and kiss him on his lips. She wanted to tell him that she loves him. She wanted to share herself – and everything she had; but she remained silent and he was gone.
She stood there for some time to ensure that he is gone. Once she was sure about his absence, she stood there for some more time. She would never let him know that she was here – feeling his presence and admiring the story he wrote with her name in that. The lounge was chilling, but her heart was beating faster and faster. She did not feel the cold. Her blood was boiling all the time. After a few more minutes, when he was gone, she looked around her again. Nothing has changed. He came and he went away, leaving Shona unnoticed and nothing changed around her. Weird it was, but that was normal, as he told her to be.
She did not break the promise – she could not. She was happy now. She was refreshed. She opened the door again with similar care and came out of the lounge and the door closed behind her.
Off I fly away
In Response to Hashan's Poem: Insane By Your Smell
I fly
Away from you
My blood can’t quench your thirst
So now, off I fly worlds away
From you
Deeds you do
Endorse fortune
Seldom its luck
That navigates
In storms of life
No one else, but
You build your fate
Tagore: A Commemoration
There is no Sun as bright as you
You are still radiant in my heart,
Of all I read and of all I know
You are THE MASTER of the art.
Vibrant are all your paintings
The words you wrote are still alive
The wealth you gave to the world
No one else could ever contrive.
Bless me now, I’m all yours
I feel so proud when I think of you,
The world of art will surely miss
Guru of literature, O Kabiguru!
It’s today, when you were born
O what an auspicious day!
I remember you, we all will do
Every poet, wherever be one may.
…Bless us all, Gurudev
…May God keep your soul in Peace…
You remain
I had a good time again today in the Lounge, after quite some time. Liked it much. All it has done is to remind me of my olden days in here. And a few words just fell out of my mouth. Reminded me of those eyes – reminded me of those poems, comments and replies – of that eternal comfort! These are those few words:
Even when in pain
In the deepest of my heart
You’ll always remain
Another Sleepless Scribble
3:33 AM
In Response to Kajal's A Sleepless Scribble
Tan was always awake, when you tip-toed into the lounge. The gentle wind on your face through the window chilled his spine. He was sitting alone in another corner of the lounge, scribbling on his notepad – making absolutely no sound. It was lonely. It was cold. It was dark. Still, it was fun to be here. Suddenly, the door opened – a thin ray of light became wider as you came in. Tan could see you looking around, fearing if you have wakened anyone else. The notepad in your hand and the desire to write something was visible. You came in and sat near the window, at the corner. The waft ruffled a few strings of hair on your face. Probably you felt shy and you smiled. Diffidently, you sat down and started scribbling. Tan saw it all!
Tan wanted to shout aloud and say ‘Hi’ to you. He was so pleased to see someone alongside at this hour. He was overjoyed and was going to call you. But then, the wind blew again and those strands of hair alongside your chin flew. They brushed your face and you smiled – again! What a wonderful sight! That was something one could die for. Tan felt no different. He could not move. He could not utter anything else. He sat there – in tranquil – staring at the most beautiful sight he has ever seen.
Then you started scribbling. Your hands on the notepad were moving fast and faster. The thin rays of moonlight through the window pane made your face visible. The million dollar smile on your face was noticeable. He noticed it all the time you were there. Tan smiled within himself. Looking at you in harmony gave him eternal peace. All silent! Then suddenly you stood up. The silence broke with the sound of tearing and folding paper. Probably, your scribbling was over and so was the heavenly time. You left the torn paper from your notepad on the table near the window and left the lounge. The door opened and closed – making no further noise.
“Ka…” a soft cry came out of Tan’s mouth, after the long silence; but it was so weak that it could not reach your ears. You did not hear anything and you left. The door closed into silence again. A dark, cold and lonely silence! It was sad and dull. Tan sat down and reluctantly he took his notepad and wrote what you just read. He did not want to, but he wrote, just for the sake of letting you know that he was there – always – all the time! It was silent again, as he finishes writing the note – to you!
All I got...
Continued from Hashan’s Black Poetry : The eternal sleep !!
Love is
All I needed
From you lord and from her
All I got was this lonely grave
And death!
