I've been out of the lounge lately, and on my way back I found it filled with extremely talented, yet new people, and the lounge had become a kaleidoscope of words, imagination, and magical way in which you weave words together. But in the mayhem, as Sandeep says below, the main purpose of lounge lay ignored and rusted. When we, me ste and guru created it, we forsee a large writing family, who experiment, learn, improve and grow themselves and nurture others! for that we put competitions, challenged us with new genres, prose and poetry both. And now i see that the purpose is forgotten again. We need to revive the spirit, hence this post is being dugged up and reposted.

The announcement for today is (hides behind a bullet proof glass room!) that today is going to be introductory! introduce yourself, if you've done so already, visit member's blog, get closer, get connected, share and be shared :). If you had already decided on what you are going to repost today, please add the link to that post in your comment in the comment box of this post, we will surely come and read it.

Time to sit back and relax. We have a lot of people here we dont know, or rather in the mayhem of posting and commenting, havent had the chance to know some of our fellow members here at the Writers Lounge. This is not what we started this lounge for. This was to be a second life for us, a virtual family. And a family can never be strong if the bonds are non existent between the siblings...right!

So go ahead and give us a short introduction in the comments section. Also a small synopsis of your blog with the link. We will try to use this mail as a reference whenever we need to check out on any of the member blogs. And this will be a one stop shop for knowing new members as well. My Tweet : I became a proud member of The Writers Lounge on July 24, 2009 and thiS my INTRODUCTRY post. I am sure you will have fun reading it , coz I had loads of fun writing it :) ... Happy Blogging !!!

Those who know me well will tell you the whole story of my obsession for obsessions. Whether it's about a person, a character, a book, an accessory, the weather or a new idea!!!

I still haven't figured out the real cause of this phenomena though, but as long as it keeps me in high spirits, who cares!!!

Its kinda strange how something can be so powerful to occupy your senses completely and then leave you as if it doesn't exist. This momentary magic is hard to explain, this week it's Nadal (Yeah you got it right ...the hottest chap of tennis :P...sigh)...Last week it was Dalai lama n Tibet. Before it was Michael Jackson's "you are not alone" and way before Manchester United and Ronaldo ..ohhh... what a life!!!And how can I forget my all time obsession for food ;)

I wonder why I only talk, eat, drink, sleep and dream about these obsessions. I remember this year during my exams it was Rahul Gandhi and his dimples(ooh) and during exam prep - Che Guevara and other leftist ideology [god bless my result :( ] coz instead of mugging up literature, I was busy thinking about adventures. And man during US elections it was Obama ( ohhh I still think he is cutest) and of course how can I forget my daily cute guy crushes huh (good heavens!). Those cheesy debates on the existence of GOD. God bless my friends, who had to bear my Osho cum Nirvana cum Lama cum Emo cum The monk who sold his Ferrari phase (chill I still haven't given my worldly pleasures and love my PC and footwear and dresses) and also I am yet to achieve Nirvana (but you never know) yet the discussion lasted for a week or two (which eventually didn't lead us anywhere... lols :P).

I remember how we used to discuss the important topics like why can't they ban smoking or drugs for that matter, when they know its harmful. My obsession for color black and that black coffee without sugar and when I called all my friends to search a guitar locket anywhere they can ...just because I want it!!! Its strange but fun ;) .... And lately it's about these bizarre ideas to change the world. As they say, " People who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who actually do". No matter how unrealistic my ideas are to actually materialize but it feels great to remain obsessed to my obsessions !!!

A hi from a confused Indian

Hey there, this is my first post at TWL, so Ste suggested it be an intro piece. First of all, congrats to you guys for completing a year. This site is a great concept for all of us who have an itch to write. And now to the intro part. I am a journalist with a national channel in Mumbai. I am a Tamil girl by birth, but I have never lived in TN. In fact no one in generations in our family has. We are a breed called the Kerala Iyers, Tamils who had settled in Kerala long, long ago. But well, Kerala was just the janmabhoomi for my father. He settled with a job in Gujarat and that's where I have lived most of my life. But I guess the pack and move bug is in my family's DNA and that is why I ended up studying and working in Maharashtra.

That brings me to my current predicament - a birth certificate from Kerala, a voter ID and licence from Gujarat and a passport from Maharashtra. In earlier days I could say that I am an example of national integration. But in these days of regional politics, I am an outsider everywhere (and there are many like me). No politician worth his/her salt will ever stand up for rights of 'outsiders' and confused Indians like us. We are the ones the Raj Thackerays and Karunanidhis of the world warn the sons of the soil against. We are the ones who so to say spoil the ethnic identity of a particular state. We - the stateless people. Would like to hear what you guys out there think about this unique identity crisis :-)

I blog generally on semi-political topics, (which explains the tone of the intro:-) have a bit of a feminist streak at times and sometimes rave/rant about day to day life. I like Bollywood music, love singing, love the guitar, trying my hand at fiction, off-beat movies and of course blogging. Thanks for welcoming me to the family :-)

New youngest member of TWL!

Hi! I'm roshwrites, but my real name is Roshni. I prefer to be called Rosh because that is what everyone calls me including my friends, family etc. I'm twelve years old, and I know I'm not old enough to be using Blogger but hey, Blogger can't have an age limit for just writing stuff! So now I think I'm the youngest member! I live in London... but I do come to India often. In fact, I'm coming this year, in the summer, so I might not be able to post for a month. I will try to, so there may be one or two posts in the summer from me. I'm really excited to have joined TWL because I enjoyed reading it before, at least once or twice a day, but I was upset not to be able to comment on stuff. So I'm happy I can now! Anyway, you're probably bored by now, so I'll just say goodbye...

Saim~~~Comfortably Numb

Well, here I log in for the first time in the day (pretty lackadaisical of me, I know) and what do I find???...the place is swarming with intros and replies...everyone's getting to know everyone else and am lagging behind in knowing the wonderful lot we have here @WL...it's ok though, better late than never...I plunge forward to give a short intro on moi:)

The name is Saim and the 1st name is just about enough:D

Have tortured the earth on which I walk in excess of 23 years:D
Sometime in the middle of that torturing session, managed to scrape through 4 years of engineering college to pass out as an engineer...Computer Science was the specialization!!!
abhi waiting to start working...bloody recession is pushing the date of joining back n back and the result is that I have some more time to torture poor souls with my inane writing:D

Am an absolute die hard fan of Manchester United, I think Md. Rafi was the best voice to have been ever heard on airwaves, avid movie watcher and quizzard.

I have been in love with Maria Sharapova for almost 4 years now:P

I spend half of my waking time battling Sauron's Nazguls and the other half taking on the new dark lord on the horizon, Lord Potter:D

Had an exam in the morning..came back home, checked WL and got to know about this intro thing!
The founders and the admins, thanks a lot for this special section, though I'm completely clueless about what to write, this is the worst task(as for me), to write about myself!
So let's see...I'm known as Rose here and everywhere, and love that.
18- something, I'm to the core Delhite. The best part about being Me is that I'm a Bong, born in Delhi, to the most beautiful parents, thanks mom and dad.
I'm a wanderer, looking for answers, just too confused about my self!
I love writing, so its the one thing that brings me here :D
I love reading a lot, no particular choices in my reads as I enjoy reading anythin' from fictions to biographies. And as for authors, no favourites as I feel every writer writes to its best, I'm no one to judge, even as personal favourites.
The next thing that I love is music, trained in hindustani classical music, I love singing and my guitar :D Though I cant sing now, my throat and the tonsils..god they are painful..:(
There's nothing much I want from my life, just a recognition in the field I would be working, decent money, and a happy mom and dad, that's about it I guess. I dont know myself so well...

I am Aarthi a.k.a. Artz!
I am an Architectural Consultant by profession, but an English Literature graduate by education. I know that is strange, but don't raise your eyebrows for that! :P

All of you need to know a few things about me-
1. I am a very moody person, perhaps I am the one who is the proud owner of the worst mood swings in the world!
2. Lazy to the core! :P Yup, I think not once, not twice, but at least thrice before doing something.
3. I love making friends and I love talking endlessly!

Beer- yep...i drink beer...only when i have the money and the brain to choose between KFC and Kingfisher....lol.....texting-yep....am an addict....just can't stop using my cell....ManUtd- my dream team....i hail them!!!! Music and novels- my blood and soul

3) i love daydreaming...yep i love that. coz dream big aim high and you will reach higher and higher in life.

My life...its always an open book...you can even tear the pages and jumble them up...lol....or make small planes with them...or even use it as tissue paper....lol. Seriously speaking....i share my life with people....i just wanna love and be loved...that's my problem...i want the entire world to love me....am a pure non-veggie...hehe.....yep am commited!!!! 

Some things people don't know about me...

1) i have a fetish for brands....i would buy everything branded even if i have to remain starved the whole month...lol

2) two things i can cook perfectly...maggi and chicken.....kabhi aana mere gali

3) i love making people laugh...love to see them smile...i am not a joker or a cartoon....i think of myself as an entertainer...

4) Friends- they are my world....in one side i have my friends and in the other my family....i can't stay without them....any of them.....

A princess at the Writers Lounge....

Who am i? Im a Princess....the princess of a land called Sonshuland and let me tell you that i remain princess. No voting in there! Okies so now getting to me..Im a teen. But not your average teen! Im an extraordinary one...not because i can fly or become invisible. Its because i blog and read and i aim to become an author... I consider myself totally different and as i say "INSANE!" and believe me insanity is a cool quality.

I am a :

• Girl with magnified dreams, sure to achieve
• Teen who loves music
• Princess who keeps tapping her toes to rhythmic music
• Young Lady who adores and loves Blogging
• Bookworm, the biggest u'd ever known or will ever know!

I am a super duper adolescent who loves to write, anything! Be it an essay or a story, a novel or poetry.Reading and writing make up half my life. Dancing makes up one-fourth and the remaining go to achieving goals, studying, succeeding etc...I am a mix of an introvert and an extrovert. And that depends on the person. If i feel im confident id start blabbering and talking. But sometimes i just feel shy!

I adore Miley Cyrus and Taylor swift and all the other teen celebs as they have achieved so much at such a young age. I feel we genX are lucky to have so many platforms to show our talent. I want to not only become an author..I desire to become a dance teacher too..and that too an SDIPA instructor. I want to learn all the dance forms..thats another goal! (I have too many right? But i'll achieve them all!)

Another desire of mine is to read all the YA novels published till 16th January 2009. Thats a desire...i want to fulfill that, its quite impossible but for me it is!

Sneak-a-peek into the mind of a teenager- Its a different world...

A teen world is different from all others..its a mix of just everything! And thats how my world is!Now you can be a teen even without being one! I mean that just read the amazing world of mine and u feel a teen! i write stories, poems, etc...Just visit it!

Coming to my other home- The lounge...Its been a wonderful experience so far. The lounge has helped me bond with so many people. A Delhite by nature and Spirit. I am a Bachelor in English Literature. Currently trying hard to make it into a Mass communication Institute and also learning Spanish.

Great to know all who have posted their intro till now. More orangeeeeeee, tan, princess nuchu, vasu, mav......pleasure knowing you...and seeing some of you as well.....

Well.......lets play the intro game. Apart from the normal introduction that you guys have to post in the comments section, let's indulge in some ice breaking session here. So, what is the intro game all about? Let me demystify it for all of you here.

To ensure that you know all active members here who have posted their introduction in the post, we have come out with a wicked way to ensure that from tomorrow there will be no strangers amongst us. All you have to do is comment "Present" in the comments section here. Introducing Myself : Sam

I had been reading this huge wonderful blog since so many days but then I had no clue on how to join and post my stuff here. It was only when Kajal dropped in by my blog (or reverse order i should say), I got a whiff on how I could join here. And 12 days back, I was here. One of the members of this strong wonderful Lounge'd family.

My blogger name is same as my nick name Sam and in real name is Sameer. Sam suits me everywhere, so I kept it a bit short. I am a software engineer by profession and work in Infosys.

Cricket, writing and reading novels are my passions and passtimes. 2 years into blogging and since I have had countless blogs. In fact today itself i began one more blog encashing in the ongoing 55 Fiction revolution. When I get bored of a blog, I close it and start a new one. And then close it.

Basically i m net freak and when I m not in office, i m online on the net. Even in the night, early mornings and late nights. I am never offline. Being connected is buzzword for me. Right now I am obsessed with Twilight -- book and the movie.

In my stay here, i wish it would be longer one, i hope to meet some real wonderful bloggers out here irrespective of places, geography etc and connect to form a wonderful bond.

The intro of Moi :D

Assallam Aliekum (Peace be upon all)

I am known as Heena in the real and formal world; full name Heena Kausher Ansari, but in the virtual world and the world of those closely related to me call me Gul, Gulshan and then their creativity flows to the limit unimaginable. I don’t mind either of them.

I lived a blessed life of full 19 yrs and 6 days on this wonderful and marvelous earth. God has somehow always been kind to me. And my belief on Him just strengthens with every passing second. No, I am not a religious kind of person; in fact I started getting a little spiritual only a few months back. The right thing exactly at the right time happened to me. :)



My interest hovers on variety of topics; nation, politics, literature, science, people, religion, mythology, logics, random, and you can go on naming them. I am unpredictable even to myself. I fail to understand my emotion so much that at times strangers get me better than I can. But this thing doesn’t let me go down. I feel it’s the search for peace within me. And I get closer to my goal the more I get lost this way. After all to find the way you ought to get lost (abridged from to run you need to walk :D :P).

I try out every new thing I can and also which I can’t. My loved ones caption me as too experimenting and somehow I love the caption. :) I get deviated very fast. I may be speaking on something nd in an instant I ll change the topic. This is not how I get lost; this is something which once a friend told me happens because I have numerous of thought running in my mind and want to vomit them all, but have no control on them. I am learning. It helps and I love to learn.

But I hate studies. For the sake of formality I ll let you know I am studying CA. II have my exams due in June and I am here ;). And I belong to UP, never lived there; I have the extremely blessed fate of traveling and residing with people who take pledge to guard the nation :). Ya, I am patriotic too. A little too much. You dare not to stand when the National anthem goes on, and you are dead. Mind you.

I know I had to write not because I was born with any silver, gold, diamond pen but because I always knew my words on paper are a more of a mirror to my heart than the tears in my eyes. They always defined me, somehow completed me, they are the walking stick in old age, the oxygen which I breath, the cloak which covers me, they are my life.

The sand is running down the sand box। I have no time, literally. I don’t know much about me. It’s anyways something for others to know. So I ll stop myself *wondering who is gonna have the patience to read it full* :/.

Was introduced to WL by a friend nd since den its become an inseperable part of my life! hav found friends here nd more. Dis journey at WL has been a rollercoaster of emotions, albeit one dat I hav enjoyed. I am 21(+) years and married for 2 years to Mohammed Ziyaad (22 in 2 days!), a Singaporean ,my ex-cousin and now my husband :P

I am a cancerian, Bit Crazy, I have a passion for PINK, blogging, Reading poem and novels, admiring nature. Sensitive, Friendly, Childish, Lovable, Cute. ;)

Well, My parents are from Tamil Nadu. I was born in Srilanka , then brought up in India, married in Singapore, Living in Sharjah and working as an Admin Assistant in a freight Forwarding company Dubai.. and I hate my office and the people working there except Ziyaad;).. (phew!)

I have been always known as an immature girl since young :P..((I have no idea why..)

I haven't pursuaded any Degree yet.. My attempt to complete BSc IT is an ongoing process...

To my TWL family

Hello Mates,
Apologies for the late response! I am not well today – running high on fever and I am still sitting in the office since 8 PM! (Remember something – my old passion :P ) I will go home in some time now.

Well, I am Tanmoy Das a.k.a. Tan, Babie, Buchan, Baptu, Nantu, Mani, Laxman, Bapi, Bablie, Manikanchan, Kutul, Akaash, Tanu, Tannie, Dada (to many) and sTd (to a very few)… and so on!

I hail from Agartala, Tripura – a state in the North Eastern part of India. I am here in TWL since December 9, 2008 through the Rain Drenched Lounge Contest. I won the readers’ choice award for my first ever post in TWL. Isn’t it great?

I am a Bengali.

I have a few degrees which are not much in use these days as I work in Hewlett Packard, Bangalore. I was in Arunachal Pradesh for 6 years, doing my graduation and since 2004, I am here in Bangalore.

I am married to the most beautiful woman in the world. She defines and gives me shape, size, volume… All I have gained in my life is her love and that’s all I have at present.

Hmmm… my blogs? There are a few to detail:

My first blog, Thus Spake Tan! is going to celebrate its second birthday on May 22, 2009. I have seen a few of you there at times. Those who visit it tells me that the blog is well established. I write all sense there – mostly. There will be a small celebration on it on the 22nd and I invite you all to be there.

My Bengali blog, Hojoborolo is where I write in Bengali. I would ask all the people here who knows how to read Bangla to visit the same and read whatever I have written. I am a Bengali Writer and hence, all my best works are in that language.

My creative blog, Thus Wrote Tan! is where I write in Hindi and English – stories, songs, poems etc. This is the most famous blog I own. Many of the mates in TWL know it; but then a few really like it and visit frequently.

I am member of a few other group blogs too, like Mission Jagruti, Somewhere in Blog… and The Writers Lounge.

In the last 5 months in TWL, I have earned a few friends. Well, friendship here is all virtual. I like to call them friends as I remember them at times, when I am on and off the TWL. Just that! Rashi, Pratibha, Vinay, Stephen, Sandeep, Insiya, Kajal, Illashree, Hashan, Chirag and now Sonshu are a few with whom I have spent long time in the Lounge – writing together, chatting together and learning together. Remember mates, the TWL and YOU all writing here are always in my mind – I really think of you and at times, I wish to be with you all.

The time I spend in TWL helps me learn and lets me improve. The fact is I have started writing more frequently after joining TWL. You can easily check the number of posts per month before and after Dec last year in my blogs. I enjoy the time I spend here. More so – while learning so much.

I do not remember how I came to the lounge – most probably through someone else’s profile. Whatever it is, I am happy that I clicked on the links and profiles that day and see where I am now. Thanks for inviting me. Thanks for making me a part of the family. You mates are really good writers and I wish you all the best in everything you do.
