NEGLECTED ELDERS

Nearing their final breath
Energy depleted and lost
Grasping for needed strength
Looking doleful and dull
Elders numbed yearning for
Care and abundant affection
They need from their
Erstwhile near and dear
Drowning now in tears

Ever reminiscing the past
Leaving a faint smile
Done are happy days
Emancipation from pain, neglect
Ruefully they crave for
Such unhappiness their lot

Quench this Wanderlust

Quench this wanderlust of heart
It has suffered silently
Forlorn, morose is its ally
Wanting outburst
The wound so deep
Imprisoned by its vulnerability
Tears well like river
Swallowed into the quagmire of hopelessness
Let the passion that binds it
Ferocious as fire
Be benignly divorced from it.

SEDUCTION

Softly he whispered
"Ebony I terribly missed you"
Dizzily she acknowledged him
Until they both gave in
Comfortably embracing and kissing
Till they can no longer stop
In satiating their desires
Out from their yearnings
Now comes their fulfillment.

The wonder of it all...

A hot and long shower.....

....soothes my tired body and sad feelings....

A walk in the park.....

......sounds romantic to me.....

A hot cup of tea, coffee, chocolate or milk.....

.

....keeps me going.....

 Crying my heart out.....

......let the tears fall, feels better after it.....

On top of a mountain....
. ....I'd be amazed with God's creations.....

 A walk in the beach.....

.....I long to have one.....

A soft touch on my hand.....

.....I'd feel feverish.......

A kiss on the cheeks.....

.....that's so sweet of you......

Whispers I love you.....

.....my heart goes pitter-patter....

 Tells me he misses me....

...Oh, I'm on cloud 9....

 A call before I sleep....

....gives me a deep slumber.....

 A tight hug....

.....I feel safe in his arms....

He'd write a poem for me.....

..I'll forever remember it....

He'd asks me how are you today....

....feels he cares for me.....

 Alone in my room....

.....gives me the needed solitude....

And so my blogging buddies, what can it do to you, too???? Share me....:)

T'was a bad hair day...

I was asked yesterday to transact official business today at the Governor's Office in Tuguegarao City which is a four hours drive from our place. Our service vehicle has to leave at 5:30 AM in the morning. I woke up at 4:30 AM so I have one hour to prepare myself and have breakfast but....t'was a mess, a bad start because instead of proceeding to have my breakfast and take a bath after, I still opened my laptop and checked on my mails and sent someone a short message and what happened? You might be shocked:

Beep...beep...beep....went the service vehicle in front of our house and I was still in front of my lapi! I ran to the bathroom and:

- took a 5 minutes shower;
- brushed my teeth for 1 minute;
- put on my clothes for a bare 2 minutes;
- gulped my one mug of coffee in 30 seconds;
- munched the almost burnt toasted bread I put in the toaster for 1 minute;
- instructed my kids in 1 minute who will also leave in the morning for their enrollment in Baguio City....

Then I grabbed my bag and the folder of documents and ran out of the house and rode inside the vehicle waiting for me with disheveled hair and a not made up face and everybody was shocked to see my present state, until they all laughed together at my sorry state.

I requested the driver to turn on the lights inside as it was still dark so I can comb my hair and put some loose powder on my cheeks and apply lipstick on my lips.

And when the wind blew on my face, I smelt of another fragrance! Oh no! It was my son's perfume that I sprayed on myself? Whaaaa....what a day!!!

This is the first time that this scenario happened in my whole working life and the culprit is: being addicted to blogging!!! I just smiled to myself and ignored their laughters....

P.S. When I arrived from my Official Business, I went to the bank though it was already late ( I took the back door) and I was quite puzzled because when I entered the premises:
  - the guard smiled at me when I passed by him...unusual;
  - the Janitor also smiled at me...really unusual; and
  - the Teller smiled at me...so, so unusual....
because all of them are guys and suddenly, the Janitor chided: "Ma'am we're happy you still come though the bank has already closed because I like how you smell!" Huh! OMG! My perfume??? Oh No! So embarrassing na!

My Very First Love

Most of the time, I would meet my love at the library
Yearning to have a wonderful rendezvous and rhapsody

Visually, I like how my love looks so attractively
Every part is as significant equally
Romantically I would run my fingers all over him
Yet he remains cold and no feelings at all towards me.

For quite a long time, I acted so much like a fool
Instantly, he became an inseparable part of my whole
Remembering now those times, I wonder how I became so engrossed
Spending so much time and never wanting to lose
Till I would have learned everything I'm so amused.

Looking back now on how I spent my life with my first love
Only God knows but I could only smile now
Verily I say, I found a new love one I vow
Ever better than the first one I have somehow.

P. S. To my readers, if you know my new-found love, just put your comments here…I intended not to spell it out here, and am sure you know who my first love is here…I would appreciate each and every comment you will make….:)

The Gift ....55 Fiction

The room is ready for baby Ashley’s arrival. Brightly decorated and completely adorned. Her cries in the delivery room announced her arrival. Anne eagerly looked for Dale and went ahead of the doctors to break the news of their baby’s arrival. She found him in the hospital chapel crying miserably and uncontrollably with her parents.

(This was my entry to Lena's 55 Fiction Contest at The Colors Magazine last month. I wanna see how you interpret the story. I cannot think of anything to post right now, hence I thought of this as a better alternative with permission of course from Lena, even immediately after the contest.)

Looking Back on What Mothers Taught Us

A few months back, my wonderful and loving daughter gifted me with three hard-bound books on parenting. I was quite amazed of her display of love and affection to me for she knows that I love reading books but more so because she saved that much from her monthly allowance if only to buy those books for me. But as of today, I am not yet through reading with any of the three, but had already started the one titled: “The Wonder of Girls” by Michael Gurian, also the author of “The Wonder of Boys.”

While leafing through the pages to find the most interesting chapter or part, as I always do when I read a book, because I don’t usually read from cover to cover, I came across a very interesting article of which I wish to share to other parents like me. It’s a conclusion of the chapter: The Artful Mother: What Girls Need.

It’s a humorous look at mothering which the author received via e-mail and included it in his book. It goes this way:

My mother taught me about stamina:
“You’ll sit there ‘til all that spinach is finished.”

My mother taught me about contortionism:
“Will you look at the dirt on the back of your neck?”

My mother taught me about the circle of life:
“I brought you into this world, I can take you out!”

My mother taught me about weather:
“It looks as if a tornado swept through your room!”

My mother taught me to appreciate a job well done:
“If you’re going to kill each other, do it outside, I just finished cleaning!”

My mother taught me how to solve physics problems:
“If I yelled because I saw a meteor coming at you, would you listen then?”

My mother taught me about hypocrisy:
“If I told you once, I’ve told you a million times: Don’t exaggerate!”

My mother taught me how to be psychic:
“I think you know what’s gonna happen when your father goes home!”

And, my mother taught me logic:
“Because I said so, that’s why!”

Mothering is truly one of the most difficult jobs on earth, and requires more courage than anyone ever measures. Perhaps the greatest courage is required when a daughter leaves home, like my own daughter. On most nights I am sleepless, thinking how my daughter is coping with in the new world where she is now exposed. It’s my constant petition to the Lord that He will always protect her from all kinds of evil things.

My Heartfelt Greetings...!!!

Dear friends and fellow members at WL,

Here I am personally greeting everyone a very “Happy Diwali”. It's a heartfelt greetings from a fellow WL member of pure Filipino race.

Young and old, rich and poor alike surely take part in this very momentous occasion of yours. It’s one way of keeping your traditions burning and alive and celebrating with pride and honor the significance of it all.

Wow…five days is a sure long days to complete and enjoy the celebration. And I believe that everyone can take a long and happy break from the daily concerns in life, from the daily boring or exciting routines of office and non-office works.

Wherever anyone of you, be you’re in your beloved country or abroad, am very sure Diwali celebration is a must. It’s like a Christmas and New Year’s holiday, isn’t it? What, with all the firecrackers and a bounty served in every home to be shared by family, relatives and friends…

Someday soon, I wish I can celebrate Diwali with friends, virtual or real. I am quite excited to take part in this unique celebration of yours…

From the bottom of my heart…A JOYOUS DIWALI TO ALL OF YOU!

Love,

Amity Me

My Princess, My Best Friend

She’s my princess

My loving friend

Who as a child was precocious

And lovingly curious.

She grew up pampered with love and care

By loving and caring parents so rare

She lives in a simple abode

With two brothers of her own.

She told me once she wants a brainy man

And I urge her she goes find one

She confides in me when she is down

And I’d help her erase that frown.

She tells me she hates pretender

Who tries to put good friendship asunder

I’d tell her to learn to be forgiving

To make her life worth living.

She dreams to be great someday

And make her parents proud of her one day

She dreams to build a happy family

Like the one she has grown up fully.

She’s my daughter

My loving friend

Michelle Kaye is her name

And someday would be famed.

P.S. I was supposed to place a real picture of her but...am afraid she wouldn't agree.

KISS it!

It was midnight, when suddenly, the phone rang. I jumped to my feet and was confused if I have to answer the call or not. Unholy hour of the night? And who should call me? And why? It was even brown out.

I was trembling, lifted the receiver, and did not say hello to whoever was calling because I was thinking this must be a prank caller. But to my utter shock and dismay, the one on the other end started blabbering “I know you will answer the phone coz’ you are alone in your room”, the voice went but I could hardly decipher who he is. "Alone in my room?" I thought to myself. How would he know I am alone. It sent shivers down my spine.

“So that’s the reason you’re enjoying your life at bloggerville because everybody seems to be kissing you there?” the voice continued. “I am just your silent follower but I was shocked when a couple of people told you that your work was kissed beautifully”, he said as if with feelings of remorse.

I suddenly laughed, and mumbled to myself “what an idiot of a creature he could be”. And before I could explain to him about the kissing interlude he was talking about, the line went dead.
Whoever you are silent follower, thank you so much. But maybe, Amias can lecture you on that on her “Acrostic Only” site.

TYPHOON

Truly devastating

You could only

Pray God’s interceding

Hundreds and thousands

Of people are perishing of its

Overwhelming destruction that’s almost

Never-ending!

P.S. I thought of writing a story about the recent typhoons that have visited our country the past couple of weeks (Ondoy and Pepeng) but I can't stomach what I have seen over the television, hence, I just did a simpler way and here it is.

TRAPPED

Trapped
in the
past
that never
seems
to last!

Trapped
in the
present
that I
can only
resent!

Trapped
in the
future
where
nothing is
sure!

LINEN MOMENTS

Love how
It feels
Neatly washed
Evenly pressed
Nicely tucked.

Makes me relax
On its top
Makes me comfortable
Entwined so adorable
Now and every
Time I will
Slumber so fine.

P.S. This acrostic of mine should have been posted at Amias', but when I went over the rules, it't not really an acrostic but any style of poem of which the title is "LINEN MOMENTS". So in order not to waste my effort of writing it, I am posting it here...Anyway, I made another one for Amias.

PARIS

Passionate lovers they populate
Admiring the sights while on a date
Reminiscing the times they've been together
In restaurants, parks and the Eiffel Tower
Showing their love to their wonderful mate.

P.S. This is not my piece of work but my son's, the youngest of my three kids who's now 15 years old. I was busy writing a limerick acrostic titled PARIS for Amias Acrostic Only and he was beside me trying to disturb me so I told him, "okay, you write one", and he did. He asked me this morning if I already posted it here, and I told him not yet, but I guess to give him fulfillment, I am posting it now....

Oh, Acrostic!

Deep in my sleep
My mind continues
To write acrostic
I don’t know if
I have to panic
Or just be grateful about it.

Subconsciously my mind
Will organize
The thoughts and ideas
I have in mind
And when the morning breaks
My pen and paper lie in wait.

Oh, acrostic
You make my heart tick
That even in my sleep
My mind is writing
An acrostic.

Midnight Writer

When the clock
Strikes twelve
And everybody
Has retired to bed
She will get up
Get a paper and pen
And start to scribble
Beautiful lines that
Will last forever.

Comes the break of dawn
She will take the machine she owns
And start to tap its keyboard
To give life to the beautiful lines
She has formed
So that others can read her masterpiece
And followers she can't afford  to miss.

That’s the life of a midnight writer
Come hell or high waters
She will breathe life to
Her thoughts one way or the other
For that will really give her
Fulfillment as a writer
Even when a stalker
Is eyeing at her.

P.S. You stalker can never dampen my spirit coz I love what I am doing!

Loathsome Stalker

You almost ruined my life
In posting your anonymous comments
I despised.

You made me cry
How could you tell
Such a lie?

You should rot in hell
God forbids He
Only can tell.

But thanks for Shraddha
For she enlightened me
Like an enigma.

Come your next victim
You might not be able
to convince him.

Because if he has the will
He will never forgive you
Without a deal.

Pity you loathsome stalker
As you start eyeing a new
Victim at the lounger.

Now be grateful to me
For I surrendered
Everything to Him.

MONSTER

My encounter with an anonymous stalker
Over the lounge of the writers
Needless to say I was verbally abused there
Seeing myself like a bad member
Then somebody made a post at the lounger
Exacting the details of her own encounter
Read carefully between her lines I felt better.

You, anonymous stalker must really be a MONSTER!!!
You better rot in hell!!!!

CLOUDS

Cumulonimbus
Lie
Over the atmosphere
Until they fall as
Drizzles and
Shower the earth!
