EVERYTHING IS RED NOW

Girl waiting for someone....

Eyes questing, the massive crowd
Voice impatient, to blast aloud
Every flower, fragrant with her soul
Right under, that thirsty pole
Years wept, without his glimpse
Time swept, in painful limps
Hearts will, reunite in a flash
Inhibiting tears, into that trash
Night ended, as he tread that ground
Gently turned , his head around

Innocent face, with enticing smiles
Stepped ahead, to end those miles

Roaring noise, tear her apart
Explosions, did blast his heart
Death urged him, to again depart

Numb amidst ,the bleeding soil
On ruins of her fate, she toil
Waiting endlessly, until time recoil

This was an impossible effort to frame up a moment of disaster which has shaken the foundations of heart of innumerable people in the past which run through newspaper as "13 serial blast in Delhi. Every blast leaves some eyes with everlasting quest, some hearts with boundless ache & some hands with ruthless blood. Such narrations whenever told always leave eyes with mist of tears and hearts with pangs of fear.

The Red Riding Hood

And she lied cold on the ground. Numb. Stiff. Her breath now controlled by a dozen microbes, feeding on her voluptuous body. The hood she had worn to avoid the wind was torn. Her painted eyes were nothing but a spoiled picture made by an immature artist. Lying amidst the dry, dead, brown leaves, she seemed to be an immortal beauty, for, her beauty could only be seen in the middle of ugliness.

"Granny, I got you your medicines. Have them and then go to sleep. The doctor will be here in a while. I'll go and call him. Alright?" She said, covered her head with the hood and walked out. Her red converse matched perfectly with her red hood. Her hazel eyes were bright in the stormy weather. The hair were still the same... loose copper curls. Don't know what happened to her suddenly, she turned back to change her hood. She thought, "Red always invites trouble for me." She started walking towards the house, then stopped. Stood completely still. Slowly, she turned around only to prove her instinct correct!
"We meet again!" A heavy voice welcomed her. He walked towards her very very slowly. With the sound his shoes made by crushing the dry leaves, her heart thumped harder. She felt as if her heart would pop out of her chest.... She licked her lips, to make them moist. She blinked twice a second. She held her hood-jersey closer to her.

"You really think this hood of yours can save you?? You Bitch!!!!!" He screamed and threw the knife at her. It hit right in the middle of her chest. He frowned at her as she collapsed on the ground. She tried taking it out... her nimble fingers glorified with the gore. She could feel the night beginning.

And she lied cold on the ground. Numb. Stiff. Her breath now controlled by a dozen microbes, feeding on her voluptuous body. He walked to her, took the hood, tore it and threw it right beside her. It was the symbol of their love!

Crimson Rain

Eyes flickering, hurting, I watched inspite of the heavy showers, as a battle raged in the heavens. Every clap of thunder and every flash of lightning an avid token of a fracas so grotesque that just the thought made my heart cringe. But still I looked on....for I had my hopes pinned on the outcome....because this fray was a metaphor for a battle raging within me...between my dreams and my sense of realism. A war so hopelessly poised that the ramifications were clear from the onset....the only victim....the only sufferer was going to be my heart....and my soul. The only tokens of this skirmish would be the tattered remains of my hopes and sketchy but blindingly vibrant flashes of memories.....the kind similar to strobe lights that sometimes cause a normal person to go epileptic...hallucinate!

And then something changed...the water pouring down seemed warm as if coursing with life. The sun slipping behind the horizon partly camouflaged by the dark clouds tinged the skies red.....cast a halo about everything. I cupped my hands and watched as a small puddle collected there....smudged crimson....and then I knew that blood had been drawn....that somewhere up there...in the skies....it was ending...the vanquished reeling under the heavy blows....each cutting through the skin....deep...drawing more crimson fluid. The rains intensified to a point blinding me....visibility reduced to a stark zero....and then as a final lurid signal...a blinding flash of lightning tore the sky apart...followed by a deafening roar of thunder. A roar reminiscent of an evil victor standing defiant over the vanquished....the flash of lightning illuminated the clouds in patches sketching a gory pattern.

The rains stopped....it was over...I stood there, face upturned...somewhere inside me the battle had also stopped...and I could feel the first pangs of pain.....Dropping down to my knees, in a puddle of red water, I stared into nothingness.....drenched in crimson!

Give Me Red

She was looking at him through bloodshot eyes. Right there, he sat with his friends, with chilled beer in his hand. She was watching him from the bar, sipping through her Martini. In the middle of the music, she was observing him, forgetting about everything else. She would sip through her drink, put the glass down and continue staring. He was laughing. She was loving it.

He noticed her. She did not move her eyes away from him. He looked at her, still laughing. She gave a tilted smile... a wicked one! He was stunned at her beauty. Her copper hair were curled amazingly till below her shoulders. Her red halter dress complemented her slender body. And her eyes... made him whisper, "Oh Gosh!" She waved at him, almost inviting him to the bar. He stood up, leaving his friends behind, and walked across to the bar. He was tall... smart.. and amazingly good looking. She waited for him.

He stood right next to her. The aroma of her cologne was too strong for him to handle. He felt weak in his knees. Never had he met such a strong headed girl. She was alone, he figured that out! They didn't speak to each other. Ultimately, he broke the silence. "Can I get you a drink?"

She gave the wicked smile again. This time it was more killing. Her red lipstick made him crave for her voice. She said, "Sure! Give me red!" He raised an eyebrow and asked, "Excuse me?"
"Red wine! I'm not the cheap drinker!" Impressed by her voice, he ordered the drink for the lady and another beer for himself. As she held the glass in her palms, he asked, "You don't seem to be a regular here. Haven't seen you often!"
"Yeah! I come here only on Fridays. Only on the 13th."
"Oh.. you mean, only on Friday, the 13ths??" And he laughed.
"Yeah." Her eyes were straight. Stuck at him. He met her eyes. Stark Red! A chill ran down his spine. He was scared to death.

She again gave the wicked smile, bent towards him and whispered in his ears, "Thanks for red, honey! Take care! And yeah, welcome to hell." With these last words, he fell on the floor, bleeding from his neck. And she walked away from him, with the same Red Wine glass in her hands. She raised it and whispered, "Cheers."

One of his friends ran to his body on the floor. He then searched for the girl in red. He found her across the floor, with a glass of red wine in her hand, smiling wickedly at them, and raising a toast!
No one saw the girl ever again at that pub!

HIS RED BLOOD

Bathing in blood of what seemed eternity,I cherished my memories of his love

Of the love only I deserved to possess.

The blood, still warm enough reminding me of his smell.

His flesh now looking pale,I caressed his ripped cheeks, where she had last kissed him.

I took a piece of iron and brandished my name on his heart, where it would remain forever.

The revulsion of seeing him make love to her.

I instantly clutched a kitchen knife and severed his body.

I filled myself with his crimson blood smearing it all over me.

The sanguine fluid dripped from my hair making me feel blissful for my gory deed.

I closed my eyes and tore open my insides, to let his RED BLOOD merge with mine.

(now for the members who don't know hindi well)

maa mujhe laal tika laga de ,
haatho main bandh de laal dhage ,
ranbhumi par main jaunga ,
chhakke dushmano ke main chudaunga

dekh us veer ko ran mein ,
thar-thar kaanp rahe the saare ,
krodh se ho rahi thi aankhe usaki laal ,
dekh jise bhag gaye kai kayar

badi bahaduri se lada vo ran mein ,
laal kar di dharti usane ,
dushmano ke lahu se

ran jeet maa ka laal jab ghar aaya ,
laal fulo ka haar use pahnaya ,
sab the khush jeet par usaki ,
aankho ka taara ban gya tha vo sabki ।

Red Rose

My favourite colour is Red. Let me explain why.
Sanjay stood on the doorstep, his heart going thump, thump. Thump, thump. He was frightened, and his trembling knees clearly showed that. The fact it was freezing cold also made Sanjay all the more scared. If you looked closely, you could see that is face was white from the cold breeze, which was blowing softly on to Sanjay's face. He turned around to face the gate behind him. I can't do this, he whispered. I just can't.
Suddenly, the door opened. "Is that you, Sanjay?" Rani asked softly, in her beautiful clear princessy voice. Sanjay's fists clenched together in worry. "Yes. But don't worry, I'll go now-
"Why are you here?" Rani whispered. Sanjay paused, and Rani could see the look in his eyes was of fright. "Has something happened?" she asked.
"No. No, it's nnothhing." Sanjay said, his words a jumble. Rani smiled. "It's something. If it wasn't, why would you be here? I mean, we are in the same university class... do you need help with course work or something?" she asked.
"No! Oh, it's nothing. I'll be off." Sanjay said, stuttering. "Please tell me." Rani said in a sweet voice. Sanjay was so moved that he decided to tell her. "I want to marry you." Sanjay said. He paused, while Rani listened. "I want to marry you, ok? It's been my dream for a long time... but why would a pretty girl like you marry someone ugly like me?" he said, close to tears.
"Firstly, Sanjay, you're not ugly. And secondly, yes, I'll marry you." said Rani, her hands holding Sanjay's hands tightly.
The big day had arrived, and gone! The wedding had been a success, with Rani looking beautiful and Sanjay looking handsome in his black suit. Now they were entering Sanjay's house, holding hands. On the doorstep, was a red rose. "Hey! A beautiful red rose... it's welcoming us together in the house! Red's my favourite colour now!" Rani smiled, showing off her pearly white teeth.
And if it's Rani's favourite colour, it's mine too! The red rose was a sign we would be together always, and now, at 76 and 77, well, we have been together always.
Hey guys! This is my entry for the "Red Contest"! Hope
you enjoyed reading!

A sensitive poet - An artistic butcher

Liz opened the door. Jason stood outside, still and cold.

" So, Is it the Rose or the Serpent ? "

Liz couldn't decipher what Jason what referring to. Happens everytime when Jason talks poetic. But this time his expression was cold, His words non-romantic.
" J, just come in. You are soaking out there. "

Jason stepped into the house and bolted the door behind him. His hands... his shirt... his face... everything... Red... Liz took a step back in horror. The ever so lovely, always romantic, ceaselessly smiling Jason coated in red... Blood.

In a snap second, organising her thoughts and blending her sins, She understood. 'He Knows'. She guessed where he had been and what he had done. She also realized why he was here.

Regardless she asked, " Is HE dead ? ". Her voice was quivering.

He answered was cold as him. " Humans die when you sever their torso, divorce their vital organs and drain them off their blood ". His answer made her motionless. She couldn't even begin to imagine what Jason had did to HIM.

She, "How long you've known this J ?"
Jason, "Long enough". He smiled, tilting his face.

She sensed what he was going to do next. Yet, remained speechless.
He spoke.

" I loved you... The only way I knew of loving. Impulsive, spirited and passionate. You were MY ROSE, the essence to my survival. I gripped the rose tightly with both my hands and cradled you in my heart. But... The she-rose enticed a serpent into my flower bed. The rose was gripped secure. So, when he plucked you out of my hands, the thorns ripped up my skin.... blood... blood.... blood... everywhere over my hands, over my body. But I couldn't feel any pain. I was just NUMB. I've been numb for over a month now, calm and unperturbed by your betrayal."

" I wanted to feel again... Feel something, anything, everything... Anger, Fury, Power, Violence... Just to be assured... I'm still alive. It gave me such a high and gratification killing HIM. I expect pleasure, none the less of you... My precious beloved "

Liz, " J, I still love you. "
Jason mocked, " Its time our love ceased to exist. You killed it a long time ago and slept over its coffin "
Liz, " J, just be still and think of all the... everything... we had... please Jason... I beg you. "
He gave a cold wry smile.
Liz pleaded, " Please J. I truly love you... Still..." she broke off...

She continued, "I nearly died when I heard you were in an accident last year..."

Jason, " Nearly dying changes nothing, Dying changes everything. Now...It's time you started shivering dear..."
