THE RAINS ARE HERE!!!..HAILA, GAMATH!!!!
Dear all,
I was wondering what to post today as was really not able to write something nor was I in a mood due to some reasons. But got to hear that the rains have started to unleash their fury in Mangalore and Mumbai thanks to my friends who are still there. Hearing that made me kinda ‘senti’ as both those places hold a special place in my heart even now. Though wasn’t able to write a work, thought to share a ‘rainy’ number from a old Hindi movie called AJNABI!!
This song holds some significance not just because its based on the rains- it’s a song sung by my favourite singer as well as written by my all-time favourite lyricist. Moreover, whenever I hear this song, I remember someone whom I wanted to bask like the way Rajesh Khanna and Zeenat Aman are out to in the video!!..Sorry that i cant translate it, but hope its liked by one and all!!..
CHEERFUL despite all drudgery, am supposed to be.
HEARTY self of mine, off late, very few, get to see.
INNOCENCE that i had, eons ago, I know not, how i lost
NAIVE atleast now, I want to be, somehow at any cost.
MIRTHFUL, wish I could always be if had been decided by fate.
AWESOME it would have been, if in this lifetime, got create.
YOUNG in heart, i know, I won’t be, never
ARTICULATE in my works, I want to be forever.

The rain song

This is an attempt to a blues song.Partly, because i love blues, and partly because I have been playing some lately.Hope you enjoy.Apologies to Muddy Waters and the likes :D
Bright sunny days ringing in your ear,
Little flowery petals reminding you,
Hey pretty Baby, haven't you rocked the cradle too?
Last night was going out too soon.
Walking out the streets of rust
I realized, hail the powerful one,
He who showers rain upon us, wet wet
looked back at the days of yore, and saw what I missed.
It wasnt the dame from the garden or the next peg of whiskey
It wasn't a fat cheque or a brand new ferrari
It was the blues , always the blues
the blues man! makes me so happy,it makes me shout
because without blues ya, what's so special about being happy?
And the rain splashed on both sides of the sidewalks,
she trotted along quickly, smile on her face
Joy around her , I took the shade, she smiled back.
the blues ,man! makes me so happy,it makes me shout
because without blues ya what's so special about being happy?
her light blue dress , face upright and bold
beauty inside out, compassion playing overtones
brash, beautiful, exhilerating and I am confused again.
Ya baby, love is a painful affair..
the blues ,man! makes me so happy,it makes me shout
because without blues ya what's so special about being happy?
Mixed dedications to few people who made possible moments of joy. :)

A Rainy love story

This poem was written by me and my friend together while we travelled back home one day and it was raining outside. This was formed within an hour by exchange of few messages -
Some drops touched mud, some on flowers
only few were lucky to embrace her lips
as they slid down her open eyelids.
She welcomed them with her open palms
while others ran for shelter,she
stood there,under rain's charms.
He felt glad from her carefree dance,
it made him say "i love you dear"
as she stepped into his open arms.
Oh rain you bring so much of love,
but where does love vanish
when you are not around here?
In his arms she felt warm
and so much cared, but it never
lasted untill the rain fare.
She felt her freedom arrest,
wanting to get free,dancing
in the rain,unlike rest.
She enjoyed rains but he sulked more
when for the mud puddles on the road,
she left him sitting all alone.
She called him to be under the sky
to walk cozily,hand in hand
how much she would have enjoyed.
Rain stopped,its sunny around
is he the one destind for me,
she searches for answers about
In the burning heat she walk ahead
but to find a shade over her,he was
there with an umbrella over her head.
He was the one guy to be lost never,
his presence answered all questions..
whether rainy or not, they walk together, hand in hand..
Happy forever..!!!

Rain ....

Her bags were packed. She didn't know what was left for her here. Everything had come crashing down like the heavy rain . Nothing was the same any more. Her whole world that she believed in had come crashing down on her. She just had to move away from this place. "I should probably call up Alice ( her childhood friend ) once I reach London and ask if I could crash at her place. For how long.. Well nothing's planned and neither was this ".
As soon as Rachel reached London she called Alice who told her to come over to hers with out even any seconds thought.
Alice was really worried about Rachel .When she saw Rachel at her door step she was completely shattered . She still remembered her friend who was always so lively , the life of every party. Now hardly anyone knew if she was in the same room. She was just a ghost of her old self , so dull so lifeless. The laughter had gone away completely just sadness in her eyes. Something had seriously gone wrong in her friends life and she wanted to know what it was. But Rachel didn't wanna talk about it yet. What had gone so wrong that made her change so much?
And she even started hating rain. The gurl who loved to play in the rain , used to find excuses to play and run around the country side was just avoiding it. She just couldn't figure out what happened.
As months went by. Alice starts to sees the glimpses of old Rachel now and again . The occasional laughter , the chatter. Rachel had even got a job in a reputed fashion company. Things were seeming to settle down. And then it was all ruined ..
It had started to rain again..
PS: It's my first attempt in writing a short story of any kinds. Sorry in advance if it looks a bit incomplete or otherwise.

Cats in rain (Raining cats) ...

The mother’s lap was very cozy. She did not want to move out. It was almost evening and Mom will soon go out to fetch food. She would be left alone. She wanted to remain inside her fur and enjoy the warmth for as long as possible; but she could not. The mother suddenly rose from her nap and stood up. She looked around with suspicion and searched for something unknown. Cats are always like that. The little kitten has seen it happen when the neighbor’s bull dog comes down for a stroll, but this time, she was unsure of what the matter really was. She peeped out and saw – raindrops! It has started to drizzle. There was a fear in her mother’s eyes. Rain in the evening means there would be no outing for mother tonight, which means there will be no catch, which means they have to sleep without food yet another night. Oh! How much would she want the rains to stop! She is still young, and cannot go out with mother to hunt; yet she thinks she should at least do something to stop it from raining. She sneaked a look out of the old jeep ruins and looked up. It was real cloudy today; it was almost dark. She was about to come out of their shed, which they called home, but her mother’s paw stopped her from going out. The drizzle was gaining might. The mother would not let her child to go out. They looked at each other. Both were hungry. The mother could see it in her eyes. She was all prepared to go out and fetch some food for dinner; but it is raining now. Where would she go and what would she hunt? It was not unusual for her to go without food at night; but those were different days. Her daughter’s father was around and he would render all love and protection. They would go wild teasing, chasing and loving each other and running around the jeep and the hedge nearby. They never felt hunger then. Now, it is a different situation – she has her little kitten to feed. She cannot let her go without food – not even in this downpour. She looked at her. The kitten gave an empty look. She looked up once and sprang out of the shed. The little kitten kept staring at her – mum.

A Visit
It was raining cats and dogs when I left home. I was hurrying through the drenched streets and making my way to where she lives now. She would be waiting, I knew. She would be getting wet too. I took the raincoat, but forgot the hat – was in such a hurry. Took a bunch of yellow tulips from the florist at the corner; she loves these. I moved nearer to her place. Making my way through the fleeing crowd was toil. I hid the flowers inside the raincoat, hoping they would not get soaked. And I rushed through. Many of the folks had umbrellas. Hush! Why did I not bring mine? – I thought. This small kid, walking with her dog in her lap was trying to get underneath her mother’s umbrella. She was playing hide and seek with the rain and getting drenched – the mother was too hasty to look back at her, as she passed me. Hope they live nearby. The other couple was too busy in each other that they could not see the rushing limousine. And as I thought, the car splashed all the water unto them. They looked at themselves, then the passing car, then at each other and laughed. Weirdoes! They found another excuse to hold each other more tightly. All the people were either walking swiftly towards their destination or running towards a nearby hideout. None had time to look at anyone; neither did I. She was waiting! I hurried faster. I did not have time to enjoy the rainfall. I thought of enjoying the shower together with her. It took me another couple of minutes to be there. I reached her place just in time. I went past her mates in there – they had no visitors. I was the only one there – wet, but happy. I could see the bluish cross – no mistake, it’s her! I went near; sat by her grave. It was all sodden in this evening London rain. I took out the flowers and laid them by her chest. She felt it close to her heart – still thumping as mine. I felt she cried in bliss, that I could make it on her 87th forgotten birthday – even in this downpour. Tears were in my eyes too, but thanks to the raindrops – I went unnoticed.

It rained ...

She looked out of the window... Dark clouds gradually covered the pale sky.It was going to rain she knew. Her eyes scanned the empty road below... Dry leaves and flowers covered the black tarred road like a lovely mosaic. The humid breeze played with her hair, covering her dreamy eyes.As the first drop hit the mud,she strtched her hand to catch a few of them. The cold raindrops seeped into her pores, blood rushed to her cheeks and her eyes shone with joy.she stepped out on the road, bare foot, clad in a colorful dress that clung to her thin frame. As it rained harder, she moved in sporofic rythm around herself.. The mud smell, the rush of water into the potholes, the sound of breeze in the trees and the songs in her head... she was lost in her lovely world...
And then she saw him coming... he was again drunk. She ran inside before he could see her... Even rains will not be able to hide her tears once he started abusing her on the road... But no one will come to her rescue... "Its between the man and his wife" they will say and move on...
Gradually, all weathers became same to her ... She lost herself in providing a good life to her only son ... Shae only knew the day break when she started working and then the dark night when she returned to her son. He still drank and beat her for no reason...She still had no help until the day her son stood for her ... That was the first day she smiled in years... and her last too... She died that night with a content smile on her face. And it rained for her again,,,, It rained the day she was buried,,, It was harsh winters yet it rained ... The winds howled, the flowers covered her grave, and the clouds covered the sky she looked upon ... Rains did not desert her after all ...
