P.S Hello guys! I have been reading this blog for sometime now.. and been wanting to join for a long time. Finally I am here Umm some of you know me as Winnie the poohi (on my other gmail ID)

I see that there is wave of Limericks going on here.. so well here's my try :)

A man once bought his bride,
A very fine horse to ride.
The horse took flight;
Pushed her in fright,
She took this on her stride!

Betty liked to sing songs sublime
She sang them for a long, long time
And in due course,
her voice went hoarse;
They applauded her with many a dime!

Mr. Smelly Walks

Of crowded and fast paced Delhi
From which ever road passed Mr. Smelly
The way he used to walk
All Children used to mock
But he didn’t care and ate more jelly

Limerick: A Bald Old Man!

A bald old man from Delhi
Had the most voluminous belly
In Chandni Chawk
He flutters like a hawk
All know him as Mr. Smelly





I'm loving it in here ... everyday, its something new - something to learn ... Keeping mind and thought open to all these is very important ... Thanks to Gulshan for introducing us to this type... I'm happy that I tried!!

* P.S. I don't think this exactly fits into the definition of a Limerick as it isn't funny :(..but just gave it a shot..hope you guys like it :)

A wise octogenarian from Nice

Decided one fine day, to raise geese

He sought to buy the perfect set

And found a barn to let

Alas! He OD'd for the honks never did cease.

This is kinda dark, now that I re-read it! But the syllable count plus the rhyming...UFF!!!

In the garden city Bangalore
not just flowers,garden are full of
people jogging,walking
ladies sitting,talking
and lovers-lost in the love's cause!!

Limerick..

Hey people..i would like to introduce everyone to a new poetic style called " LIMERICK"

It sure has the syllable essence of a haiku..first cracked by Edward Lear..here are it's some of the basic rules:

1. It is a 5 line poetry
2. The syllable structure is 9-9-6-6-9
3. The first, second and fifth line should rhyme, and the third and fourth lines should have a different rhyme.
4. The first line ends up with a name of a place (strictly followed)
5. Limerick normally have a comedy or humor in it.

I Met a smart rabbit in Madras
With a special aura so wondrous
And with red hot temper
And Very horrifying anger
Still she is royal as a Heiress
