Please, come back!

If only you can see me this way,
I believe you will come back
If only you could feel the pain, I feel
I am sure you will come back…

If only I could tear my heart apart and show
If only I could have said that simple, ‘No’
If only I could make you smile, for once,
… I know, you would come back!

Happy New Year, my friends here in WL. This is just a call to all those who used to be here and now, life has swung them apart. Wish this new year would see us all back here, in our own place, where we belong to. Please, come back!

New Year and beyond...

Hello all! This is my first post at the Writers Lounge and I do hope that a bond of long term friendship will be established. Do not hesitate to guide me with your comments. They acts as a booster to me and inspires me to write more and more... if not one another more!
Happy New Year 2010. Sweet little moments of joy are here again. Although for the Indians, it is always a festive season starting Durga Puja and Id. Festivals are a part of any culture and as I have mentioned in my blog's posts also, we the Indians are best at grabbing any opportunity where the word 'PARTY' involves.

With every passing year, where I and my life is heading I don't know. I still remember, it was year 1997 that we welcomed the new year sitting alongside a fire that we lit inside the cycle-shed of our school. Same practice of 'waiting night' followed till year 2000. Electrification from the backyard of our kitchen, some meat and rice and lots of chaos while arranging the same... Later on the music over-powered our souring throats...!

The new millennium brought me to a different place, amongst a new bunch of friends. Here too, the practice remained the same... but the cycle-shed changed into classrooms! and the year rolled on...

To mix it up with the waiting night, slowly the venue went a far - a picnic trip organized. On the banks of river Dihing, Lohit and on the beds of the beautiful scenery of Parasuram Kund... Meat and music blend together the meal and the masti (fun) part of it...

Last two years or so, the waiting night vanished all together... Now only, I wait for the television programs to get over to the new year... From Doordarshan to Star Plus; zapped at all... the throat wants to get soared... how and where I don't know... Its nothing else now... just another NEW YEAR...

"THIS MOMENT"- Special New year gift

It was an awesome New Year party last night. All my friends were fast asleep after getting drenched in booze yesterday. I got up early and decided to go for a walk. I'm walking along a beach in Goa and it's a beautiful day. The future stretches out ahead, in vast ocean that surrounds me. As I walk along, my past is there too walking along with me, but today I want to walk forward, to live in ‘THIS MOMENT’ and truly want to see all good things in my life and world around.

The air is warm and dry. My heart is suddenly full of joy as I remember that it is New Year's Day. A day to start afresh and my heart is filled with joy and curiosity of what this new year has in store for me. People walk and ride bicycles on the bike path just round the corner. They talk and point, and laugh together, as they enjoy the New Year day. What a beautiful and peaceful scene it makes!

I pass by a man and his son, a toddler held safely in his father's arms. His face is a study in pure joy and wonder, as he looks out over the miles of sandy ocean shores, vast ocean of his brand new world. It is the beginning of a beginning, and tears gather in my eyes with the power and sweetness of this simple thought. A man sits on a rock and gazes into the distance. He looks sad and forlorn, as the breeze blows by and makes the leaves flutter on the tree next to him, in this lonely scene. I am reminded of other days in the past when sadness and hopelessness were my only companions. I say a silent prayer for him, and profound thanks, to God, for me. Then I walk on.

An old woman leans on a fence post, looking into some other time. She doesn't seem either happy or sad, just gazes into the past, or maybe the future. I wonder what her ageing, but still lovely eyes have seen, in the time that she has spent in this world. Where has she been? What amazing things has she witnessed? A lifetime lays hidden behind her eyes. A feeling of timeless peace flows through me and all fear of what the future may bring drains away. I thank her with my thoughts, and move on.

I am almost back to my hotel. I walk by a stand of young trees swaying in the wind. A loud burst of cheerful chirping and tweeting erupts from the little grove, and I can't help but laugh out loud, at the "bird party" going on next to me. As I reach my room, go inside, and close the door, I say another thanks to God for the gift of "THIS MOMENT". It has taken a long time to find it, and although I can't seem to keep it with me, all of the time, I know how to open the door again, when the time is right. I know that whatever the New Year will bring, there will be joy, and enough treasures of "THIS MOMENT", our present to help me through the hard times that we all must face.

New Year's Resolution...What d Heck???

Heylooo!!!
1st Jan : The most overrated day of the year!!
I was blog reading lately and everywhere what i found was new year wishes and their resolutions for the coming year.
Although i never had any new year resolutions before (as if people seriously follow it!!) but this time round i thought its high time i should have one.
So there i started thinkin of my new year plans....

1>Attend College regularly
2>Gyming Everyday
3>Avoid Being Stupid
4>Respect College Faculty provided this is the last sem
5>Stop wasting 2 hrs in getting ready
6>Early to bed,Early to rise
7>No more junk food!!
8>Chocolates after every meal has to stop
9>Studying atleast 6 hrs before exam
10>Stop watching shitty movies
11>Logon ki tang kichna bandh!!

Finally after all this scribbling i managed to get onto one single resolution that i know won't be hard for me to follow:

Sleep till you are Hungry,Eat till you are Sleepy!!

With this thought i wish you all a very HaPpY NeW YeAr....Hope you all have a kicka$$ year ahead ...cheers!! :)
