Flying.........!!

"What happened?",she asked.
"Nothing. I just got up and the skin just got rubbed so it's paining",he answered, rubbing the back of his leg down the knees.
"Ohhh...How can that thing pain you? You don't even know how to get up",she teased.
They both had been sitting on a raised gravel platform when he decided to get down first and stand in-front of her facing her.

She was still giggling!
And he made a face and gifted a swift slap on her face!
"You get down then, then you too will feel the same pain!", he said, kinda irritated with her laughter.
"Why would I experience the same thing?",she resisted,"I know how to get down, I am not a child like you", and she giggled again.
This irritated him more.

He came to her left side and sat besides her on the platform.
She was still in teasing mood! And he was still irritated!
She said something , he replied with something!
She teased, he got irritated.
And hence came the time for revenge.
He tangled his shoe with her slippers to make it escape her foot but un-fortunately he couldn't!
"What! I knew this intention of yours hence I had made a firm grip on my chappal", she said, thinking she had won but poor girl didn't know he was not such an easy guy to accept defeat!
"What? What are you looking at?"she said in a humble voice when she noticed him looking at her from sideways, breaking the silence of few seconds that had lingered between them.
And this was enough to distract her and the devil got the chance to play his best shot! There went her chappal, a few metres away from her foot, the flying chappal!
He had finally been successful in sliding away her slippers from her feet.
Immediately her ran to collect it and just hold it high in the air, taking advantage of him being taller than her!

A Tribute to Womanhood!!

I wrote this one somewhere down 2004 when Congress President, Mrs. Sonia Gandhi emerged victorous amidst a huge political turmoil..I have never been politically inclined towards Congress but her unanimous triumph in the Union elections left me spellbound...and i just couldn't resist penning down my proud sentiments for this admiring lady. Here it goes...

" She is an inspiration for women,

who elevated to power defeating all men,

she had a pitiable and painful history,

that turned her life into an unending mystery,

she fell in love and, married an indian,

and there off started a new life,

she lapped her husband's dying mother,

earnestly supported him who had by then:already lost his dearest brother,

she witnessed a new era of indian politics,

while her husband rose to power defeating all critics,

but yet again, she faced an assassination,

which put an end to all her fascinations,

she lost her loving husband and became a widow,

left behind with two growing kids coupled with past dreadful shadows,

she nurtured them well,

till they matured intelligently well,

and ultimately joined the indian politics on public demand,

with a dream of mustering Congress under her command...!!"

Once upon a time there was a queen

Gudhiya was very ecstatic yet her heart ached. Everyone congratulated her. They blessed her for her new life. The house was full of cheer and laughter. But her eyes kept on searching for someone. She hadn’t seen him since morning. She was vexed. Different thoughts came to her mind – had he taken his medicine, was he upset. She wanted to assure him everything will be fine. She elected to go up to his room. It was quite a probability he might be there. She got up from the chair meticulously to avoid spoiling her mehndi. It was still not dry. It was quite a task to reach up to his room with so many people in the house and she being the centre of attraction. She finally came to her destination but to her dismay he was not there. Sadness gripped her. Hours from now she would be leaving. She yearned to spend time with him. To again go through the memories she had lived with him. Her gaze fell on a photograph. It was memento of the time that had flown like a river. It was like reliving a dream. Suddenly some kids came bustling into the room. They were looking for their ball but woke her up from the dream. Disappointed she left the room. She was tired. She decided to go to her room. And she was surprised to see him there. He was looking at her empty closet that was lined with her clothes day before. She smiled. Maybe he was looking for yet another reason to scold her “Gudhiya why isn’t your cupboard clean? When will you learn to arrange your things?” He didn’t even realise his Gudhiya was in the room. She gently kept a hand on his shoulders. He looked back and she saw a tear twinkling down his cheeks. Like every father he had awaited this day but little he had expected it to happen so soon. It was just like yesterday he had held his little angel in his arms for the first time. She had just started to walk and had called him “papa”. He surely had his complaints with time. Just few minutes ago she had so much to talk to him about and now she lost words. All she could manage was “thanks dad”. But in heart of heart she knew she could never thank him enough. Could she ever return him those sleepless nights he spent when she had fever? He had loved his little baby. He had nurtured her with all the affection she could ever ask for. But soon she would be leaving him all alone in this big house. No longer would his house be filled with her childish innocent lark...There used to be a time when his day couldn’t culminate without her goodnight kiss...when she used to come to him with all her troubles....when once she ruled his house...once upon a time she was the queen....
