The 'Belief'

I wanted to touch the sky,
Spread my wings out wide and fly.
But, when the winds lifted me, they cut down my wings
When the wings grew back, dead were the winds.

But, I did not moan… I did not cry.
I just had to give it one more try.
So, I waited for a million years.
When my wings grew strong and the winds grew fierce.

And I rose up again to the firmament high,
With a determined will and a focused sight.
Tearing the clouds to achieve my dreams
Not listening to others’ demotivating screams.

I was reaching that place higher than high…
The moment for which I waited an entire life.
And in a moment the ecstasy turned to grief,
Now how will I ever believe in ‘Belief’?

The sky shattered to pieces… fell apart before my eyes…
Yes… at the end… I lost my fight!

  1. Not sure if I interpreted your poem right..
But it's better to have tried and lost than to never know. :)
