The Fallen leaf

The tree shed another leaf,
a dry golden slender fellow,
while the green ones mocked..

The old lady picked it carefully
her wrinkled hands caressing
the tender veins of the leaf..

Her rough yet tender arm lifted
the leaf to air as it eclipsed
the sunlight blinding her eyes..

The leaf moved a bit inwards,
the lady gave her toothless grin,
and thus the two bonded to each other..

like two matured fellows view other,
respecting for the brave face they keep
as the walk into another sunset...
