I Believe In Me...

I have been down the deepest pit,

Without any thoughts, I have had to sit,

I have been stranded in darkness black,

In this life of mine, I have often lost track.

In the deepest of mire, I have been stuck,

I have tried a lot in vain, without any luck,

I have had many a curse, thrown at me,

Looked for fair fortune, yet failed to see.

I have had to sell, many a small dream,

Lost many a trust, that I could not redeem,

Have lost in love, and I have felt that pain,

I have seen someone else, in a mirror pane.

Yet I am here now, I have survived it all,

Come through life, never forgetting the fall,

Only because I had with me, someone to lean,

Someone who believed in what I once had been.

That someone is me; I never gave up in life,

Held my head high, and smiled through my strife,

When people around, gave up all the hope,

I fought through it all, learnt with them to cope.

I listened, to what my heart had to say,

I followed what I thought true, to this very day,

I dared to do, what they thought I never could,

I came out on top, because I believed I would.

I dared to dream, and live that dream true,

I held on to prayers, from loving people few,

Inspiration from my heart, I did then conceive,

Anything is possible, but only if you believe.
