A Child in me

In the race of life, ahead I move
Every moment trying to prove
Of what I am, and a bit that fakes
A smiling face and a heart that aches

Still tonight someone smiles inside
The little one that I try to hide
Not afraid to laugh, not afraid to cry
Dreaming away with an open eye

Yes there is a child in me
The one I hope to let free
Yes there is a child in me
That thinks as deep as the sea

Unafraid to go ahead and try
May not succeed and yet fly high
Happy in the little things of life
Content forever, nothing to strive.

The Cinderella and the prince charming
Belief in the fairies, faith in god
All exist for that little one
Bits of mischievousness and a bit of fun

Caring hands wiping the tears

Forgiving with a smile,
No grudge to withhold
Meek at times, and yet so bold.

Innocence touching the depth of heart

Laughing without a reason, indefinable art
Words might not be the ones we know
But the eyes speak volumes with a sparkling glow

Yes there is a child in me
That hopes for few moments of peace
Yes there is a child in me
That was once in my lifetime was free...
